Re: Assassin's Creed Shadows: AC Japan
Ubisoft in trouble. Most of the games they released this year have been flops. This game has had some controversy around it. Idk if delaying it could work.
Still funny how it gets delayed the day after Ghost of Yotei gets announced

Re: Assassin's Creed Shadows: AC Japan
It's funny that both games are set in 16 century Japan. Obviously different location, but in theory, it should be very similar. This game will be compared to Ghost of Yotei, whether Ubisoft likes it or not. And since GoY was apart of a State of Play and not a bigger event, I see GoY coming out by June by the latest
As much as I liked the original Assassin Creed's(mainly the Ezio Collection), this was a series, I wanted them to move on from this series. For me when it comes to long running series, after a while, I want to see Publishers work on new IP.Comment

Re: Assassin's Creed Shadows: AC Japan
I feel that Ubisoft has gotten itself into a predicament with its persistent approach to stealth in games. They refuse to acknowledge that their customer base may want a change. They could keep stealth while enabling a more aggressive approach and offering players easier access to open worlds of gameplay, but they keep insisting on a linear approach that may eventually hurt them financially.Comment

Delayed again another monthComment

Re: Assassin's Creed Shadows: AC Japan
I imagine they are trying to hit a more favorable release window, especially given concerns over the company's stability. February is pretty stacked with releases which could have made hitting performance targets even harder.Comment

Re: Assassin's Creed Shadows: AC Japan
February really isn't stacked. They could have released. Don't matter which month they release, they aren't going to hit the sales numbers that they want. Way too many hate the game as is and simply won't buy it. The month you release it in isn't going to change their feelings about the game.Comment

Re: Assassin's Creed Shadows: AC Japan
You're right that the release month won't change the way that many feel about the game, but you don't do yourself any favors by releasing it at the same time that gamers are going to also be looking at other big releases. February has both Civilization and Monster Hunter which are huge franchises. Kingdom Come and Avowed (popular developer though that one too has some controversy around it) were also slated to be within about a week of the original release date. Releasing it in March won't make someone magically want it, but it might grab someone who was on the fence but was also looking at one of those other games which was being releases at the same time.February really isn't stacked.
