Game(s) you are playing to pass the time to release day
Wondering what games people are playing to help pass the time to release day.

Anything except football games, because otherwise I'll burn out on it before the game drops! -
Re: Game(s) you are playing to pass the time to release day
I never could get into the college football mod for Madden. Don't get me wrong the mod was a tremendous effort and it was awesome, but a big part of the college video game experience for me is recruiting and the draft really can't replicate that for a franchise mode.
My main game is Plants Vs Zombies Garden Warfare 2. Secondary games are MLB the Show 24, R6 Siege, Battlefield 2042, WWE 2k24, Party Animals, Fall Guys, Palworld. I've played a little XDefiant and I like the gunplay but the abilities are a bit more than I want in an FPS. I also redownloaded the original Black Ops on Xbox last week. There are still 10k people in multiplayer so that's been fun. The Center remastered map just came out on Ark Survival Ascended so I want to try that, but I'm trying to fix my PC at the moment as I recently did a complete reinstall of Windows and it's running slower. I'm also in the process of setting up a Dynasty for NCAA 14 and I imported a couple jerseys. Would like to create a full custom team for that but I'm afraid that is beyond my modding capabilities lol.
My wait might be longer though. If we can't edit recruits I'll be passing and I'll have to wait for Maximum Football or whenever EA's next college game releases. I've seen a lot of people name "EA Sports College Football 26" but I don't think it's a done deal that a new game is releasing next year. In fact I could have sworn I read something several months back saying that this would not be a yearly release, at least not right away. Obviously plans change though, and if this game has great sale numbers then they may decide to do a 26 game, even if that wasn't their original plan.Comment

Re: Game(s) you are playing to pass the time to release day
The main game I'm playing right now is MLB The Show. I'm doing RTTS and am in my 4th season, 3rd in the majors. I currently have a 51 game hit streak and am chasing the record. So, that game has my full attention.
I'm also continuing on in my 32 team spectator Franchise in Madden 24. I'm recording the games and then using video to sharpen up my editing skills for when the college game comes out.
After that, believe it or not I'm playing RDR2. Just can't get enough of that game. And if there is any time left over, I'll watch a couple of games on NBA 2k24.

Totally agree! It's fun to try Play Now and just see the teams but without dynasty and those unique playbooks it's not the same. Also I couldn't start Travis Hunter at WR and CB so that was a bummer.Comment

Quick resume is amazing! That's why I get most multi-platform games on Xbox. I checked out NBA 2k24 after not playing 2k games in a few years and it's great. Really cool to see little details like digital Mark Cuban in the crowd at Mavs games. The main game I'm playing right now is MLB The Show. I'm doing RTTS and am in my 4th season, 3rd in the majors. No lie detected... this absolutely rocks. My GF Loves it too cause I can no longer say "I'll be ready after this game" lol
Oddly enough I am also just sticking with 2k24. They did a great job with the MyPlayer progression this year. Moving up the tiers has me coming back more often than any other version did.Comment

Re: Game(s) you are playing to pass the time to release day
Yeah man, I'll play The Show and that'll take about 10-15 minutes if that long, then I'll play RDR2 for about 20 minutes, enough to go from day to nighttime...and then I'll do one show my my WWE 2k24 Universe, and finally watch a game of Madden. Just being able to jump in and out of games and pick up where you left off is just so convenient. No lie detected... this absolutely rocks. Re: Game(s) you are playing to pass the time to release day
Quick resume on Xbox is so different than PS5 rest mode or Switch sleep. The fact that you can keep multiple games suspended is the real game changer.
It's also another reason why I prefer digital on Xbox too but I'm pretty sure it will suspend disc games, you just have to swap the discs.Comment

Re: Game(s) you are playing to pass the time to release day
Agree with everyone on the quick resume feature.
I'm not sure if you guys are aware of this, or if it's on every platform, but Madden has a soft resume game type thing. If you pause the game and close application it saves your progress at the last play you completed. Once you load the game again and go to franchise, you can either load at the last point you manually saved, or load the game in progress.
Not as good as a built in save and quit feature like NBA 2k has, but it's something.Comment

So many lol. MLB The Show 24, Top Spin 2k25, XDefiant, EA PGA Tour career mode, and Helldivers 2. None of these I plan to stop playing altogether when NCAA s out so my dynasty will be super slow progressing.
Once I finish season one in my Reds franchise I will take a very long break away from that game though. May not even play it again until next baseball season, or close to it when I get my baseball fever again.Comment

Probably gonna grab College Bowl on Steam on 6/20, that'll help pass the time until CFB25 comes out.PSN-Shugarooo
