College Football Legends you’d like to see?

I think something that could be fun with this game would be the inclusion of College Football Legends, but not the typical guys that made it big in the NFL.

Players like Ryan Leaf, Ki-Jana Carter, Rashaan Salaam…these would be super fun inclusions and guys that were all fantastic college football players, but you probably won’t see in a Madden.

Who would you guys like to see?

Of course, Tim Tebow. Johnny Manziel would be fun to play with.

As far as legends,

Payton Manning (doubtful since his cousin is a holdout from being the game.)

Eli Manning (If you get Payton, you got to get his brother, right?)

Archie Griffin (only two time Heisman trophy winner)

Roger Staubach (Captain America. A legend that would be fun to play with.)

Brett Favre (Because I'm a Southern Miss fan, wouldn't mind seeing him in his college days. Unlikely due to his recent troubles.)

Derrick Nix (Another Southern Miss guy. If not for his health issues, he would have made it to the NFL and I think would have been a force. And his a great all around guy. Currently an assistant at Ole Miss.)

Reggie Bush (was dynamic in college. And there's a chance now that they have restored his Heisman.)

Heath Shuler (I was fan of him in college. But he never learned to read defenses and flamed out of the NFL quick.)

Kordell Stewart (Slash in his Col. days would be fun.)

Vince Young (He was so dynamic in college)

Charlie Ward (Passed over because the NFL wasn't ready for his play style yet. Did get drafted into the NFL though.)

Doug Flutie (had one of the best hail mary throws of all time.)

Ken Dorsey (Another good one to add that didn't have a stellar pro career.)

Matt Leinart (another one that would be a great choice for this game but didn't have a stellar pro career.)

Robert Griffin III (Pro career was cut short due injuires and not making adjustments when defenses did against him.)

Andrew Luck (He was stellar in college.)

Tony Rice (last quarterback to win a national title at Norte Dame.)

There are more I could put down. But these are the ones I'm including for now.

Dude you hit the nail right on the head, that’s exactly what I’m wanting to see myself. Guys like Shuler, Dorsey, Kordell…even somebody like a Maurice Clarett (remember him?)…the list would be so vastly different than an NFL legends list.

Chris Weinke and Peter Warrick (fingers crossed)

I also think if guys like the Mannings are too much work to get into this game, that works because you already get them in Madden. Of course it would be cool to play as Oklahoma State Barry Sanders but I kinda want to see the other guys that won’t appear in Madden.

In time I feel like we’ll get everyone anyway as far as the holdouts go.

Ron Dayne is EXACTLY the type of Legends I want to see haha. Ricky Williams had a great NFL career but I’d love to see a Texas Legend version, I love Ricky Williams. All great picks.

This is a great idea, I was going to say Eddie George but a focus on past college legends who aren't big names would be very appealing to older fans, cost less money and actually may be feasible.

I'd pay $9.99 for DLC of say 50 legendary college ballers of this nature.

That was my thought, somebody like a Ryan Leaf…you know the NFL isn’t going to come knocking for a Madden inclusion haha, but in the NCAA he IS a legend. You would think a lot of these guys probably would be pretty cheap to license. But dude I’d love to see Eddie George too haha.

It’s not that it CANT have NFL legends in it, but to start I think it would be cool to have those other guys that College football fans would DEFINITELY know, but NFL fans may have forgotten about. Just to set a tone that this is different, it’s not the NFL or Madden.

But sticking more with the guys who were not big in the NFL

Michael Vick - He actually did have a good pro career, but who wouldn't want to play with him in the college game again?

Joe Hamilton - What a beast in college. Especially that last year at GT where he was a Heisman trophy finalists.

Knowshon Moreno - Stud in college, but a NFL bust

Cecil Sapp - Maybe a bit fringe, but he was pretty dominant in college when he finally became the full time guy.

David Pollack - NFL career derailed before it got started

Charles Rodgers - Part of the Detroit string of 1st round receiver busts, but he was great at Mich St.

lol, oh dude, Charles Rogers takes me back. I remember ordering a Lions Charles Rogers jersey like THE DAY he was drafted, I got it so fast my friends minds were blown as to how I had this so quickly haha. I was so sure he’d be awesome in the NFL.

OMG, Michael Vick would give me PTSD from Madden 04 when he was literally unstoppable. It would be fun though haha. Great list.

Yeah man, and you know a lot of legends are going to be in the game but in the Ultimate Team is the problem! I want them in regular exhibition matchups as an option, like how 2K basketball has legendary players and teams to pick from.

THATS exactly what I want too, MLB the Show does something similar where the legends are just in the free agents pool. I prefer what NBA 2K does though where they have the Eras…I WISH we could get that. Understandably, the teams in the NFL would be larger because of both sides of the ball, but I’d settle for Legends just being in the free agents pool.

As a K-State fan give me Michael Bishop and Colin Klien. Finished 2nd and 3rd for the heisman and they both had the Cats a game away from the Natty. They both should’ve won the heisman..

Michael Bishop is a name I haven’t heard in SO long, good Lord. I had to google who drafted him in the NFL, I can’t recall a single snap he played in the NFL. He just got put in the College Football HOF last year too apparently

They had some of these guys in the "Campus Legends" mode they added to Madden 22 a few years back. I agree with the inclusion of some "college only" legends, like Charlie Ward, Troy Smith, RG3, etc.

I really want some *old* legends too. Gimme Paul Hornung, "Whizzer" White, Ernie Davis, etc.

I never played that, I remember seeing it and it made me kinda wish we would just get a full on NCAA haha. I should have tried it.
