    Old versions no longer work

just wanted to give everyone a heads up to never delete the game from PlayStation 4 or 5 because you will lose everything you have worked on if you do.

I spent six months creating a custom roster that was perfect for an older version of the game and had to delete it temporarily to make space.

I thought nothing would happen since I backed up my files onto a thumb drive. Only 2 custom logos and teams so I thought I would be safe since none of that requires online use. Everything was saved for off-line use but it didn't matter.

Unfortunately, now that I have reinstalled, all my saves are no longer usable. Files are corrupted they say. The only thing corrupt is 2K sports for being greedy.

There is no other game that does this to you once you spend money with them. I will never buy another 2K game.

Gotta say this sounds more like you just being a little reckless / naive with your save.

If I'm understanding the sequence of events correctly, then perhaps the explanation is that your roster was initially created on an up-to-date / latest-patch version of the game, but by uninstalling then reinstalling, you put yourself back to the launch edition of the game and can't update since the servers have presumably long been down for that game. If that's the case, then yeah, you'll get that error message, as save files are patch-specific (they are migrated forward patch by patch, but you can't just take a save from a more recent patch and load it with an older patch).

If that's not the issue and you are indeed on the latest patch even after your reinstall, then I don't know what the exact issue is, but nevertheless I never uninstall games from a gaming console if they have local save data that I care about. It's just asking for exactly these sorts of problems.

Not sure it's actually because of reinstalling. Several months ago I decided to go back and play 2K15 and I still have the original installation on my PS4. But when I tried to load my old custom roster from back then, it was corrupted.

So I had to create a new custom roster file based on the default roster that my game has (with the last patch). I've noticed it's not the default roster that shipped with the game (per the date on the loading screen) because when I looked at all transactions during the summer of 2014 I saw that many of them were actually updated, so I think the roster would be dated somewhere around late Aug. 2014.
      My Specs:

      ZX Spectrum
      CPU: Z80 @ 3.5 MHz
      GPU: Monochrome display
      RAM: 48 KB
      OS: Sinclair BASIC
