    Issue with 2 way players

So I've been testing various slider sets since release as I wait for patch 1 to get an ETA. In that time I've been noticing man coverage seems to have some blown coverages for me in specific instances.

I went into practice to do some testing. I've found a very specific issue that I've replicated with consistency.

If a WR is playing in the "CB1" position (aka outside CB on the strong side of the field), their man to man / press animation seems to not trigger fully. Where I would normally see the DB put his hand on the WR which will alter the WR's path or at bare minimum slow them down slightly the DB only puts their hand out but never "engages" with the WR.

It's almost as if the WR doesn't engage in an animation "battle" with the DB(which is also a WR), which means they free release and smoke the 2 way player.

I replicated this by swapping over to USC who also has a WR with passable coverage skills (in the high 70s). Noticed the same exact thing in the same exact scenario. He played fine on the left side of the field. An ACTUAL cornerback played fine on the right. But the WR put as CB1 on the right side of the field caused the same problem.

Anyone else had issues with this / care to test it out to help me confirm?

This kind of reminds me of the PS3 Press glitch from I think it was Madden 13?? Where DB's couldn't press WR's on the left hand part of the screen only on the PS3 lol.

Re: Issue with 2 way players

I don't think the issue is with two-way players. Many of us have seen the issues with press coverage with guys that only play CB. Press seems bugged because of the missing animations you mentioned. In my slider thread I mentioned the same thing with animations missing.

I don't know if EA intended for press to be so weak to make the press abilities that much more important, but it feels like if that is the case they overdid it. And, if that is the case, the CPU needs to know that because they press too often without safety help and I basically have to ignore that because I don't want to cheese the game hitting wide open streaks each time they press one.

I feel like press isn't working as intended and that may be something they fix with an update. I hope it is the case. It needs to be more effective than it is now without becoming overpowered, and the CPU needs to rely on it less when they've been burnt by it once already in the game.

Hrmm. Maybe it just feels more exacerbated with a WR.

I did notice the press coverage wasn't "great" on the right side of the field (I wasn't having any issues on the left in my tests). But it did feel as if it was MOSTLY working well enough until I had WR's at CB.

In my dynasty my two way CB’s are listed as a 0 overall when I put them into the WR depth chart. They also are not credited with any offensive stats. They get catches and yards in game, but once the game is over those stats don’t appear in the team stats page or their individual player cards. WR’s playing CB also do not get any credit for defensive stats.

This is the same issue on Madden, sad to see they carried this over. Players won’t have their stats saved after leaving the game if they were accumulated at a position on the other side of the ball.

Playing with Colorado, 3 games into my dynasty. Got 3 int's, 2 ran back for TD's. Check his stats, and got zeros across all defensive stats. (Travis Hunter).

Clearly NOBODY that played with Colorado looked at the stats.....
