Madden 25 Custom Playbooks Thread (Share Here)

There isn't a subforum for custom playbooks. I don't think one is needed as it's not like sliders where we need an entire thread dedicated to one set. Might be a good idea to have a stickied thread (either this one or a mod can make a new one) for people to post how to search for their playbook and what types of plays/schemes are in them. This would be a good idea for people to find playbooks that are more close to what they are looking for but might be overwhelmed by the options available sifting through all the plays and formations making their own from scratch.

Anyways, I'll start this off.

Type: Offensive playbook

Username: noarmsduck

Playbook name: DANGERGOOSE

Platform: Xbox Series X

Description: Shotgun heavy playbook, also a decent amount of pistol plays, some single back plays. Also has 1 I form and 1 strong I formation and of course goal line. Completely customized the gameplan ratings, all though there might be a handful of mistakes. Also last Madden I played was 23 so the gameplan ratings are based on how those plays worked in that game plus my limited experience with similar plays in CFB 25. Some of the new plays I had to guess how effective they might be.

Supposedly file sharing is cross platform this year, so I'm hoping a lot more people will be able to share with each other because of this. If it turns out not being the case, I'll be pissed off that I wasted 4 hours making a playbook on the EA Play trial, but I'll end up remaking it and upload it on PC as well.

Could someone with the game tell me if M25 has far and near undercenter formation and if they can be used in custom playbooks? I know for the last several years they could not. Just wondering if it’s changed this year.

Yea you can choose them. Hopefully they add formations like Gun Split Close Far like they did in the last CFB25 title update

How have you been able to create a playbook? It’s almost impossible for me. When I get to the gameplay section on the custom playbook menu the plays won’t show up, In any of the gameplay situations. It just shows the playart of the top play. As I scroll down the play art doesn’t change it just remains showing the top play of the list. What this means is that I can see what the play looks like that I want to star. Does that make sense? I had no problems creating playbooks in other iterations of the game, but this one is definitely bugged.

I had a similar glitch. It's just not showing what you're selecting. When this happens try changing the stars and then change them back to what you want them, and then hit "B" to get out of the rating menu, and you should be able to see what you're scrolling through again.

That's assuming you're experiencing the same glitch as I did and not something completely different.

I've spent 2 days going thru making an offensive playbook. I'm more than quite familiar with the process from years back. However, after taking the Steelers playbook as the base and deleting what I don't want, adding what I do and then checking my work in practice I find the formation layouts as such:
HAIL MARY FIRST?!!?!
THEN SPECIAL?!!?
THEN GOAL LINE OFFENSE?!!?

CMON!!! Even the "normal formations" aren't in the order I added them, showing Pistol, I Form, Shotgun then Singleback.

I hope there's a fix for this!!!!

Count the number of sets in your playbooks in game. I think we’re capped at 47 sets. Down from 51 in prior years or the 57 the game leads us to believe we can assign.

The biggest glitch is that we can only choose to add 47 formations and with 458 play count limit. If you clear out all the plays you’ll still have 10 sets and 42 plays show up for special teams and Hail Mary. Remember they advertised that play limits would be removed from the game BUT they actually increased said limit.

I created 2 offensive playbooks. I’m using 2 controllers in play screen as I want the CPU to be more balanced when playing against them. I can select the custom playbook with the home team controller. The visitor team controller the custom playbook does not show up. Any ideas? Is this intended or am I doing something wrong? This is in offline franchise.

More garbage playbook news. I have 187 plays and 18 sets.
The system says I have 225 plays and 28 sets. Why do they lie every year?!?

Does anybody know how ratings work when assigning the CPU a custom playbook? Do we rate the my playbook section or my gameplan? Which does the CPU use?

Okay, thanks. That's good to know. Would you say rating most plays 1 star could diversify the CPU offense. What do you think would be the effect of 5 stars?

1 star all plays definitely gives a different feel and more variation to the game. For some of the more run heavy teams, I’ll give the run plays 1.5 stars on first down and 2nd medium. Just so they call those plays slightly more than the pass plays. Seems to work for me.
