How do you "Watch Film" and why does it have to be right after it happens?

So I am pausing to replay a play to see what really happened a lot, I would love a game film system in dynasty. imagine having the game have film on offenses and defenses youve played on plays that worked and didnt? They have the play value score in the hightlights already, so the algo is there.

playing a 3-3-5 d? heres highlights the last time you played one
rivalry? heres last years game break down

Love the idea but it would be absolutely worthless since players in EA football games don't have any tendencies to pick up on and exploit, and due to the way it plays through animations even knowing what's coming and making the right read can still trigger a losing animation. They used to, in PS2 Madden franchises, have a scouting feature of the starting lineups which was semi-helpful once the real players started to cycle out of it and the 3 most used plays of a team on offense and defense but I'm not sure how legit it was.

Would that be possible with a capture card?

If you have a PS5 you can just record the game with the built in feature and watch it from there after the game.

Or just stream the game to twitch or YouTube and watch back when you want.

I record all of my played games through my capture care, and then I'll look at the game the next day at work. I look specifically at missed reads on offense and how the AI successfully attacks my defense.

Doing this has helped a lot, especially when it comes to developing plays like screens and RPO's. Early on, I was hurrying too much, it that second was the difference between a 4 or 5 yard and a 10+ yard gain. Seeing when to throw passes with timing etc...especially playing from Broadcast Cam. The game has kind of slowed down for me now. I'm not as hurried as I was. I contribute a lot of that with going back and watching my games.

I kind of assumed CFB would at least have a tendencies report and key players like Madden the last 3 years or so. College football changes so much and it would personally be nice to know who runs no huddle lol

There’s a built in record feature.

Save the memorable moments in your games on PS5™ consoles by taking screenshots and recording video clips.

This doesn't capture all of your gameplay but it does record clips of certain plays. PS5 does have the ability to connect to Twitch to stream your games and then go back and watch the archive recording of it. I would suggest doing that if you want to watch full games versus have just clips of the game.

Start New Recording option does capture all your game play. I use it all the time.

The Save Recent Gameplay option captures the last 15 seconds to one hour depending on how you have it configured.

So assuming you are referring to in Dynasty vs the AI, teams don't have tendencies to study like in real life where you would see on 3rd down they typically call X coverage, or run Y passing concepts. The game bases it's calls entirely on what you call (Don't believe me? Use formation audibles and watch the AI move to counter it despite no one on your team moving) which mitigates the whole idea of film study at all. Same with tendencies, there is a famous story of Ed Reed baiting Peyton Manning into throw a streak based entirely on seeing him do it on film after pump faking. This never really happens in game as the AI just throws to the lowest risk targets most of the time and all play mostly the exact same.
