Why did all my players OV drop?

Been grinding all weekend, got into the pre-season of year 3. Went to look at the roster before I started recruiting, and almost every single players OV dropped 2-5 points from where it was at the end of Year 2. The freshmen class was decimated. And I had some big time building pieces, like two 77 corners, 77 LT, and a 76 QB

Now when I look at my roster those corners are 73 and 72 OV, my LT is a 72, and my QB is a 72. And that’s how it is for about 80% of my roster.

Does anyone know why this happened? This game has been one headache after the other (for me) and thought I’d try here out of desperation for answers before I delete it.

I switched my defensive playbook from a 4-2-5 to a 4-3 for one week, just to see if it would lower the “playing style” transfer risks on defense.

I didn’t touch my offensive playbook.

There is a known bug whereby when you change your offensive and/or defensive schemes it changes the archetypes and OV ratings for some players. Don't touch it until it's patched. Instead, change your playbooks from the edit coach screen.

I've heard that if you edit a player who's been affected by this by changing their position and then changing it back, it'll fix their OV. But only certain players can be edited this way so the rest remain broken.

I'm not sure it makes much difference though since it seems to only affect the OV rating, not the rest of a player's rating. I had a RB who got dropped to a 50 OV but none of his other attributes changed at all and he still performs like he did before the drop.

It was patched today so it should be fixed now after you download the update.

Change your defensive playbook back to original from your coach edit screen.

That shoukd set everything right again. And todays patch fixes the issue from occurring.

I definitely encountered this, and fear that pre-glitch changes to the playbook may have permanently lowered the OVR's of several of my players. Some of the CPU-generated recruits did seem to go back up after I edited their position manually, etc.

But, I dunno, it just seems like they had progressed in-season and offseason to higher ratings, and then when the new season rolled around, a bunch of them were 5-8 points lower. It may just be a visual glitch with how OVR is calculated, and the players may be fine in-game. But that's not much of an excuse, since the majority of what I enjoy about this game occurs in menus with recruiting, team building, etc. If the players appear stupidly underrated on those screens, it does change the experience.

Changing the playbook back to the original from the "Playbook & Scheme" screen as well as the "Edit Coach" screen did not resolve the issue for me. Even after patching today.

Hmm. That sucks. Had a friend that moved his back prepatch and it set all his overalls and skills back to how they were.
