They can go over the top with passing and hit 70+ yard TD passes, and get 70+ yard rushes right up the middle. I know that stuff happens, but I'd like for it to happen for me sometimes too. lol

CPU Almost Only Scores on Long Plays
Does anyone else have this? I'll play the computer, and probably 85% of their scores against me, are 50+ yards. But I have to work down the field to score. I rarely get a TD longer than 30 yards.

Re: CPU Almost Only Scores on Long Plays
No. I get and give up long plays or long drives all the time.

Re: CPU Almost Only Scores on Long Plays
I’ve definitely fallen victim to long drives by the CPU. 3 here, 7 there, a 15 yard pass play.
However, out of the box before I dove into some of the coverage and defense stuff here and frankly settled my sticks down I saw this same thing. Also the big ones stick in your mind more.UofM-Duluth Bulldogs HockeyComment

Re: CPU Almost Only Scores on Long Plays
Probably user error. The only time I get beat over the top is if I'm committing underneath or the WR is way better than my CB/safety, which is rare. I've had the CPU score in all kinds of ways.Comment

Check the replays, it will prolly look canned. Ex auto blow by from receiver on cb.Does anyone else have this? I'll play the computer, and probably 85% of their scores against me, are 50+ yards. But I have to work down the field to score. I rarely get a TD longer than 30 yards.

Each and every time I call myself wanting to slow sim defense it’s what I see and I go back to either normal or fast simming. Hell, I see it there too lol

What kind of defense do you play? If you’re aggressive it would make perfect sense.Comment

Re: CPU Almost Only Scores on Long Plays
I guess I'm just that bad - although this didn't start until the update.
In my Michigan dynasty, the computer can just do a deep pass and their WR always beats my defense. No matter what defense I pick. I'll do covers, I'll do man-to-man, I'll press, I'll drop them back. They just throw a very high pass and always have a receiver wide open to run in.
I played Nevada. Their scoring plays:
94-yd pass
85-yd pass
77-yd pass
53-yd pass
This JUST started. I would never have this much trouble with passing on me.
And just for fun, here are my scoring plays:
4-yd pass
90-yd kickoff return
1-yd run
4-yd run
15-yd run

Re: CPU Almost Only Scores on Long Plays
More times than not, I'm playing Cover 2, Robber, or something like that. They just always beat my safeties and are wide open.
And it's not like I'm switching to my CB or my safety and doing something stupid.

Re: CPU Almost Only Scores on Long Plays
Yeah I don't have long runs or passes, I usually score on sustained drives. 20 yard runs are semi-frequent for me but nothing longer than 25 usually. And I have Jeremiyah Love who for some reason has 99 speed in year 2 of my dynasty.
CPU definitely gets a lot more long plays. Some games it's either I'll shut them down or they get a home run play. Other games I'm shutting them down but all of a sudden they'll start moving the ball consistently. Seems a lot more varied for CPU.
For reference I'm using Armor and Sword's All American 3.6 sliders only with wear and tear off and speed threshold at 41.Comment

Re: CPU Almost Only Scores on Long Plays
They shouldn't be wide open if your corners have speed and a high man coverage rating in cover 2 and safeties have speed and high zone rating.
When I get beat deep it's because I'm blitzing or in zone. I try to switch it up so as to confuse the AI and not set a pattern.≡Comment

Re: CPU Almost Only Scores on Long Plays
For me sometimes man sometimes zone. I don't mind giving up big plays here or there as that happens. I just wish I got more big plays for my own offense.Comment
