    Left stick

Is this a gimmick or are you guys buying the hype? Left stick crossovers etc or just keep using r stick instead?

    Re: Left stick

I have more success with left stick over r stick when getting past a guy off a dribble. So no, it's not a gimmick. The go to shot is more gimmicky but at least you can combo dibble moves with that. I'd like to see more old school go to combos with this fancy tech they have.

Yeah it's definitely useful. I've even moved to leaving the passive dribbling on because it's so easy to combo out of those sometimes with just left stick movements.

It's not one or the other, between the left and right stick. Both have their place. Left stick as of now is good for subtle/quick moves. Right stick for the more aggressive moves like escapes, spins, stepbacks, sizeups and advanced shooting.

It just seems so jerky. Ex I will barely touch the stick and my guy will move herky jerky instead of just staying in place and switching the ball from one hand to the other.

I’ve seen all the videos, it doesn’t work like that for me. As I said it doesn’t matter how fast or hard I push the stick. Ex the snatch back left stick.

It’s all about the speed of your movement. Go in freestyle and practice. I will say that it doesn’t feel as good online because of the latency.

Barring a controller problem, if it works like that for him, it works like that for you. It’s just a matter of labbing to get the feel of it.

What FV said is great advice, it’s all about the pressure you apply to the stick

Sounds like it's time to learn "feathering".

                      Re: Left stick

Left stick dribbling this year is the real deal.

Get a guy like Brunson, Trae on practice mode and just move around with the left stick, try to switch directions fast and then be more subtle. Its a whole different aspect of this years game and it expands the dribbling system so much.

I can do all that. You see how Luka was turning his shoulders of one small movement. That’s what I was talking about.

Left stick dribbling is awesome, you can really cut up the defender with some a tiny bit of feathering and some quick flicks, keeping them on their heels. I use the right stick going downhill, quick crosses, or quickly stepping back but I primarily use the left stick to get where I need to go.

I did enable passive and now it does feel better. Just depends on player

Exclusively left stick crossovers here. Shifty to the hoop.
