Shot timing and shot settings struggle

Can someone help me with these? I am a shot button player. I am struggling to find settings that work for me. I generally turn off all of the visual clue stuff so it looks more like real life. My issue is that I have tried different settings and none of them seem to work with consistent results. I can do the same thing twice and the results shot wise are different. I am trying to find settings that are a little more forgiving and allow the shots to go down more consistently when you do the same thing.

Thank you in advance. I love this game and find it super hard to play with shooting the way it is.

Have you tried rhythm shooting? I believe were all in the same boat as you and 2k is pushing rhythm shooting this year. I believe it has a wider window for making shots vs buttons.

Or like he previous user mentioned, sliders. Success sliders should help but there is a few settings in the 2nd category that should help with contested shots.

        What difficulty are you playing?

I feel like low risk-low reward is pretty consistent with me and I shoot with button and use real player FG %

I can’t figure out the layup meter for anything. Let it fill up its green one time, let it almost fill up second time and it’s green. I don’t understand similar thing happens with tempo on rhythm with no meter.

I tried to play with normal and high for layups. Offline it's great. Offline hell no.

It’s automatically on the shot stick. Just flick the extra time to trigger. Down and then up to trigger it.

Maybe you should head into "learn 2k" and look at the tutorial for rhythm shooting.

Hold the stick down to begin a shot, and then when it gets to set you flick the stick the other way at the speed of the release/follow through.

Or as Jeebs says the opposite direction of the beginning of the shot

See that's what I been talking about
Offline is getting it the worst
For the first time this year the majority of online users not complaining about the shooting only other issues

Meanwhile for offline we keep switching profiles every other day
Offline needs Customized Visual cue really bad!!

Man this year I just cannot shoot. All this complex stuff is over the top for me. Been playing 2K since 2000 and this has been the worst. I play seasons and i have a whole team full of players jump shots to learn. SO I have to figure the shot, figure the release point and all the effects that come with it and then 2K rearranging the green window based on other factors. smh just a mess.

I heard rhythm was the push cue.

I hate shooting this year...I have always been a button shooter and I used the shot meter. It's so frustrating they made a drastic change. I really enjoyed playing 2K24 and the shooting felt great to me. This year I'm not having fun.

I am an old head. I don't have time to spend hours in "the lab" to learn shot stick or rhythm shooting.
