I built a PC to play cfb25. To my disappointment, no PC release.

I don't expect the potential legal issues around NIL/ player likeness will stop a PC release. Similar licensing exists in Madden and FIFA for players and teams, right? Both are on PC.

I couldn't care less about modding to get real players in the game anyway. The rosters look 99% accurate to my eyes after the recent roster updates.

I want the CFB26 on PC for a few reasons:
    1. Performance. My 4090 should be able to run the game at native 1440 or 4k resolution, ultra settings between 60-120fps.

PS5 looks awful with the upscaling and poor frame rates. Cutscenes are 30, but gameplay is a bit better.

    2. Modding to enhance GAMEPLAY. Sliders can only do so much. I want modding to get the game to play like I want.

What year did EA ever release the old NCAA Football series for PC?

Edit - 1998? Ok, that's a lot of years in between NCAAF 14, enough so that I'd be surprised if EA has any interest in going the PC route now, since it's been what, 27 years since their last college football foray into personal computers.

On the flip side, College Football 25 reportedly has sold more units than any other console sports video game ever released. The old NCAA Football games, by my recollection anyway, rarely if ever outsold Madden. The times are different.

CFB 25 runs on the same engine and general code base as Madden, which already runs on PC. Why not add another platform and add to that massive player base? The audience for College Football is demonstrably present.

I'm not predicting that it will happen because I know first-hand that the effort to port any video game to an additional platform is significant. But I also don't think NCAA Football 98 has any bearing on this question lol.

Hopefully if it ever makes to PC, it will become available on the Nintendo Switch too. I'd love some portable college football .

Apparently PC gaming is rising quite a bit, and EA has already pushed a lot of their other titles to PC.

At the risk of setting myself up for disappointment, I'll say that I expect that 26 will be on PC.

It may of sold more copies in the US than any other sports game they always leave that big detail out. It came nowhere close to games like fifa , ect.

Factor in that it is the first CFB game in 11 years and not placing in the top 3 in US sales would likely be considered a disappointment by EA. Given the history of the game, I wouldn't anticipate a PC game unless CFB26 is nearly the success 25 was.

Here is the question that I ask, if the game came to PC as strictly a port without the ability to mod, how much would it sell? If the game is able to be modded, I'd buy a PC copy in addition to Series X. But, if it's the same game as console, then I wouldn't.

10,000% - I don't give a rat's *** about "real players!", I want excellent gameplay without the CPU cheating to overcome horrible programming logic, etc. I want a football game that plays realistically and is a natural challenge that isn't attached to cheating AI - which has been in the EA games for far too long.

Just leave me enough time to do a new build. If CFB26 come to PC thing's going to be more serious.

Without real players, there is no game though. Consoles take precedence over PC ports, and there is no way that EA would drop a game with fictitious players out the box and give us the ability to fully edit them. Not only that, without the real players being in the game and getting compensated, we wouldn't get all of the real schools either. I would love to see a PC version, but if there is ANYTHING that would possibly lead to this game being taken away again, I hope EA stays as far away form it as possible!

I don't think that is possible. The major difference between a computer and a game console is that the computer has an open architecture. I can easily edit any image or sound file on my computer and EA has nothing they can do about it.

If I followed his post correctly, I think he meant the same thing I did: The desire for a modded game isn't to add the missing players that didn't sign the NIL deal with EA Sports to be put into the game.

I've seen some fan sentiment that no PC version will exist because of the possibility for modding to add missing players that didn't opt-in to be in the game.

While I'm not a lawyer, I don't see that as an issue, otherwise why would Madden and Fifa be brought to PC? Madden & Fifa have similar licensing agreements for players, teams and leagues. PC modding added missing teams and players to Fifa and eFootball, but those games were still released on PC without hesitancy.

I initially thought the series might never make it to the PC due to litigation fears. Whether it seems logical or not to us, companies will take extra precautions when their lawyers tell them to.

That said, with the success of the game this year, which likely isn't completely sustainable and is due large in part to the gap between releases, and with how much of a flop this console generation has been, I could see EA making the move. It also doesn't hurt that Madden has been on PC for years now. It isn't as easy as just ticking a box enabling the game to run on PC, but having Madden on the platform for years now does make it easier on EA relatively so.

I certainly hope 26 releases on PC. The modding capabilities need no explanation, but the potential performance increase we could see on PC's excites me a lot.
