Anyone know why Tayshaun Prince is no longer in nba2K?

I understand the players like Barkley, Miller, Rasheed etc aren't and never were in the game. But Prince was in the game for years even after he retired, And I think I noticed in 2016 or so, he was gone from the game. I was a huge fan of the 2004 Pistons and not seeing an official Prince is disappointing. Mehmet Okur is no longer in the game either. The people who can create them do a great job, but still not seeing them and their stats does lose some immersion.

Google said regarding Prince not being in the game....

Tayshaun Prince is not currently in NBA 2K because he has likely opted out of having his likeness used in the game, meaning he has not given 2K Sports permission to include him, possibly due to his current role as the Vice President of Basketball Affairs with the Memphis Grizzlies, where he might prefer not to be involved with individual player representation in a video game.

I say...Come on Tayshaun. Be proud to be on the Pistons! Show your grandkids! Show your friends! I'm in a video game!!

Other players like Norris Cole on the 2013 Heat was on the classic rosters for years, now he's no longer there. I just wish we knew why and how 2K can fix it so we can bring some of these key players back in the game. I'm sure you know of Missing players too.

If I had to guess, Sheed is trying to get everyone on the 04 Pistons paid.

He wasn't. Prince last played in 2016, which means he was in the FA pool in 2K17. He was removed in 2K18.

As a general note, players can "seem" like they've been in the game longer because they don't phase out of the NBPA until they've gone unsigned for an NBA season.

If a player retired one day into a season (let's say, October 25th 2025), they would still be in NBA 2K27, and not get removed until 2K28 (September 2027, nearly two years later).
