Another thread said based on last year they expect it Friday, April 4th.

It's interesting that Madden always has there Opening 53 man rosters on the night of the first game (and with almost 100% accuracy) and yet, MLB the Show can't release their initial 26 man roster until the season is a week and a half old.

The MLB has different rules regarding who can be in the game. There's some players that have to play a game before they can be added. The week in between gives that time to happen.

We already have it much much better than we used to. Baseball games used to have zero rookies and zero players that didn't play in the majors the previous year.

If only it was that easy. It's all collectively bargained with the PA. Same as why the NHL game doesn't have players until they play a game in the NHL and/or sign a PHPA waiver if in the AHL/ECHL, etc. They can't just unilaterally do it, and I doubt it's a major priority for the league or the union.

Maybe just to update some of the last minute roster moves? Is Tyler Phillips on the Marlins, Jalen Beeks on the Dback, Moniak on the Rockies etc?

I haven’t looked at roster, just saw who was added on companion app.

Looks like they updated some things, but not completely.

Looking quickly at the Braves, Kimbrel and Neris were added from the FA list. Baldwin got updated equipment. But Jose Suarez is still on the Angels.

Ugh. Phillips still on Phils. Beeks still on Houston. Moniak still on Angels.
