Is Commish Editing His Own Players?
Recently I noticed that the commish edited a player on a former user's team (the user was removed) and tanked the QB's awareness on that team. Now, I'm seeing some suspect ratings on players.
Is it possible to be a true 96 and have 15 caps left? He's either editing or doing position change glitches. Thoughts on whether a player is edited? |
Re: Is Commish Editing His Own Players?
Not sure why he would tank the AWR on QB on a former user now CPU team.
I would suspect editing, but I don't know anything about position change glitches. With the current state of the game I would suggest only playing with a commish who is trusted. Can be hard to know if you're playing one with a lot of people who are randoms. I like the edit feature being in the game and IMO it's necessary. However I wish EA would introduce a tweak of it in future games. My suggestion would be for online dynasties, the commissioner can only set edits on or off when the dynasty is created, and once creation phase is passed then this setting can't be changed. That way if you're playing online with randoms you can just make sure it's off when you join, but if you want to play with a few trusted friends you can leave it on. |

I was thinking another way as I read the bolded paragraph. We can't edit the ratings of NIL players and nobody should be able to edit player ratings of an online dynasty. This is about the 4th "is my commissioner cheating?" post we've had on this board since the game came out. |
Re: Is Commish Editing His Own Players?
When a user edits a player's ratings, that player will not unlock any locked attribute caps, and additionally any unlocked attribute blocks will fill up as that player's ratings are increased. Editing player ratings would very obviously be cheating, regardless.
If a player's position is changed, his available and spent progression blocks will change based on his ratings relative to his new position. IIRC, progression caps will not change, even when a player's position is changed. After editing a player's position once, if a player's original position is then restored, there's a chance his available and spent attribute blocks could remain changed. Editing players during the season restricts players to certain archetypes; for example, I've never been able to edit a player to anything except a Receiving HB or Deep Threat WR when editing player positions during the season. Manipulating a player's position in this way could allow that player to continue to progress when he otherwise would be capped out (ex. editing a capped-out Power HB to FB, then immediately back to HB will turn him into a Receiving HB, where he probably will have more available skill blocks with which to progress due to low receiving ratings). Whether that is cheating is another question, because any user is afforded the ability to edit their players' positions at any time. |

I get your frustration, I just think it could easily be solved by implementing my suggestion where the option to enable edits can't be changed after starting the dynasty. |
