Lumines....hmmm...I might have to pick it up....Not the biggest fan of Tetris type games tho....

Lumines is just incredible. Honestly, saying it's a the "new tetris" almost does it a disservice, as it's much more immersive in quality.

And man, the amount of unlockables are insane.

Yeah - the skins/music really push it past what Tetris was .... it's a bit of REZ, as well.

Tetris just comes to mind, because that's the archetype of the simple puzzler that is insanely addictive. Also, because I remember the great success that the GameBoy had with Tetris .... here's another handheld with an addictive puzzler that could drive sales.
