Thank God there is another Madden coming out this year!
 

This years madden is nearly unplayable, NCAA 2006 is light years ahead of madden in terms of gameplay. How many years in a row can madden go without any crowd atomsphere to speak of? The Speed of the game feels off, and the pre snap controls have gotten to a point where theres no way to make all your adjustments b4 your oppent snaps the ball. I love how NCAA put all the moves on the right stick, yet madden only added the back juke and truck stick. The right stick is also useless when playing as a d-lineman. On a side note I do enjoy the cone of vision, but I wish the velocity of passes was higher.

Most importantly Madden has seen very very minimal changes which leads me to believe one thing EA put a majority of their resources behind Madden 360.

I can't wait till november and I have NCAA to hold me over till then while my copy of Madden 2006 begins to collect dust.

Have fun with NCAA (it is a good game as well). I wish Madden implemeted the juke stick a la NCAA, but I think both NCAA and Madden are solid this year. I personally love the pre snap adjustments, the vision cone, and the game speed is perfect in my opinion. As for velocity of passes, I have learned that pushing up on the stick slows the passes down.

I disagree take NCAA 2006 add Madden player models and the QB vision and you got yourself a killer game. Madden just feels unpolished the year, you guys act like I kicked your dog by saying that. Don't take things so personal.

Sorry to sound rude, but DUH! Seriously, Madden 360 will be the first game for the new generation and they are going to want to have the first one be great.

Also there may not be much new but much of it improves the game. (passing cone, much improved running game, precision passing, etc.)

EA Sports already has $150 of your hard earned bucks, on the strength of "things will be better next time."

I mean sure EA has promised change, but who's to say they'll deliver on 360 the first time around?

Where do you get $150 from? NCAA 06, Madden 06 and Madden 360? (though for some of us, like me, we didn't buy madden and "may" buy madden 06 and 360) If I have a 360 when Madden comes out I will rent it like I'm doing with 06.

History shows that first-time games on new systems tend to be pretty unpolished.

NFL2K was a joke. Madden was just as bad. The first Madden on PS1 was horrible.

Maybe this'll be different, but your better gameplay is probably on the systems EA already knows real well.

We're talking about EA here. I gurantee that Madden on the 360 will be stale and boring. Just a bunch of eye candy for the new XBox owners. Frankly, if I even bother with an XBox 360, I'm looking forward to other games that I've seen for it. Mainly basketball. But I'm not sure I'll buy one since I'm getting the PS3.

I suppose your right but I think there will be some revolutionary (heh) features and the animations will more than likely be better than we have ever seen before, but the new engine will probably be rusty at first.

Do any of the EA or even 2K Bashers ever think that if EVERYTHING you wanted to be done/fixed in the game was done in one year that there would be nothing left to accomplish in the game. You would then proceed to purchase roster updates every year from EA for $50 a pop. Whether you think you're doing that right now or not is a matter of opinion. EA would hit the wall with madden and boom its gone because sales diminish and nobody is satisfied. But the improved precision passing, vision cone, and truck stick are some major additions.

It seems all you guys do is moan and complain if you think Madden blows then fine. It blows to you. Rent the game before you throw $50 + tax on a game that you complain about every year. Take a step back 5 years when PS2/XBOX werent around and look at the developments. Too many people on these threads are soooo needy. Take the bottle out of your mouth and grow up.

The lack of atmosphere combined with sup par EA controls and a lack of a dynamic feeling of speed is a absolute game killer for me!

Madden 2001 for PS2 was light years ahead of anything else at the time how can anyone bash that game. Madden 360 should make the same leap.

The first one be great???? The first "new" Madden for PS2 was a real stinker. I bought the X-Box version even though I am getting a 360 just cuz I always fear first titles on new consoles because they never live up to the polish of the previous version. It all depends on how different coding for xbox360 will be. If its very similar then it might be great, if now, stinksville

We'll see, I will definitely rent it in between playing other 360 games.

Seriously, HOW IS NCAA 2006 SOOO much better then Madden? Madden has 90 % of the features in Ncaa and about 20 more that Ncaa doesn't have. Not to mention it's basically the same engine except that Madden's is 3 years ahead and more polished. Seems to me that you either played the for one hour or never played it at all. Im not saying Madden06 is perfect but it's easily better then Ncaa '06 (and i thought Ncaa was a pretty good game) and a damn good game with alot of improvements. List some "MAJOR" improvements that you want to see in "Madden" USF. Im guessing that you won't be able to come up with ANY "major improvements". There are plenty of new stuff in Madden 06. Just seems like some people have a vendetta against Madden.

1. The controls aren't even close to being bad. Just seems to me that you are confused and overwhelmed by all the different things you can do with the controller. No t too mention you only had the game for 1 DAY!!!!!! It takes time to get used to controls.

Have you played NCAA 2006? Can you honestly say after playing NCAA 2006 that madden plays better?
I've played this years madden and its the most dissapointed I have been with a madden game since 2002. I have played at least 200 games of every madden game and ncaa game ever made for consoles except for Madden 3DO and Madden 2002.I played 2 years of Div II quarterback in college so I think I know a little something about football.

So now anyone who attacks this game is a casual gamer because serious madden players now have the perfect game. Give Me A Break! This year game is not good and the whole point of this thread. Thank God there is another Madden coming out this year!

As far as this game, I honestly can say I feel it's the best Madden yet. The game speed is slowed down to aid in the Passing Cone and is implemented to perfection. The cone itself is very fun, although I'm still not used to it. Run blocking is a lot better, and although there is still cluster, holes open up and you have a window to get through them like IRL. What else...oh yeah, there's finally injury sliders that actually work(with just a few clicks up I saw 5 players go down with various lengths in the first half of a game, very nice to see)...I don't know, it's the best Madden IMO.

I can't understand why guy's who already have it out for the game would still go ahead and buy it just to get their own agenda across I guess. Just let it rest and quit wanting everyone to feel the same way you guy's feel. I'm loving the game and once I put in some extra work in it overall I'm sure it will play even better for me personally. But I'm not going to create a thread hoping to convince guy's to buy or not to buy the game.

I must also note that the game has only been out 1 day so why rush to conclusions. It's a video game guy's why do we spend some much time looking for flaws......when we already know they are going to exist.

See NBA 2K5 thread last september, the CPU didn't call timeouts during games. It took 6 weeks for a patch to come out.
