I love this game.....

I was playing last night against the Browns. They throw a short dump pass over the middle and I smoked the reciever with Ray Lewis, ball pops out right to Chris McAllister, 30 yards to pay dirt! Its plays like this that make me keep coming back for more. As much as I get annoyed with Madden at times, I just can't put it down, this game rocks.

Finally, someone spreadin' the love. I too like this game. As with any game, it has its flaws, but once I got the hang of the vision cone, I love to play it.

It's not like we have a choice. :)

This game is pretty sweet, I like the V&P passing, and I can actually run a little with the Vikings (altho they don't have much of a running game anyway) I can actually get passed the line of scrimmage when running and not getting blasted by the time I hand the ball off like I did in '05. I suck at kicking though, I think the kicking meter moves faster than Madden '05.

You're right, you're forced to like it. Damn EA police were at my house just last night making me play the game at gun point, the whole time making sure I had a smile on my face. Of course it wasn't as bad as the day they came to my door with 6 guys to drag me kicking and screaming to Best Buy just to purchase the game.

Well, if we had a choice then we will have an option of what to like, instead of loving the only game available. Madden is a good game on it's own, but so was the 2K series and other NFL games. Without the other series, Madden is the only game to like. It's not ugly by any chances, I like the game a lot, but I would also consider what the others can offer especially the 2K series. It is no secret that the 2K series is improving enough to scare EA lossing a part of thier fanbase. And it won't be a small part.

With only one NFL game available in the next 5 years, we will never know what the others can offer. Who knows, maybe, just maybe a game will come out better than what EA has to offer if they did not control the NFL licensed this year. But we would never know that, so I guess we don't have much of a choice.

One of the best quotes of the year.

The title of this post is "I love this game". Not I love this game and I hate the others. And he gave HIS reasons why he loved it. Oh yeah I love this game too.

Agreed. I'm making a note to nominate this for post of the year.

Only game available? I was at Best Buy just the other day. I was walking around where the CD's were, and by God, I do think I saw other video games on the shelves!

Yes, I saw games like Grand Theft Auto, Halo, and Ghost Recon 2. I saw driving games, shooting games, strategy games, and more!

Only game available, huh? Broaden your horizons, Sarah. There ARE other types of games out there...

This is just a simple question, I may be way off base, so please tell me if I am. Did you miss my point entirely?

Still not true. I was at EB Games the other day too, and my goodness, there it was! Sitting on the shelf! It was right over in the Pre-Owned section. It's called NFL2K3. I think there might've even been a 2K4 version, too. :smirk:

2 posts and already calling mods a "smart ***", not a good way to stick around here.

Another reason that I find myself loving this game is the franchise mode, I love relocating teams and the hiring/firing of coaches is quite enjoyable. My only gripe if for the love of god I cant run the ball at all, any player close to me will tackle me I just haven't mastered it yet. Anybody have any tips on the running game? (jukes? right analog stuff?) or is there any sliders out there that can help?

Re: I love this game.....

2K3spear,

I have found that not pressing the speed burst button while behind the line does wonders. That's how I improved my running. Just find the hole then hit the speed burst. It seems to me that everytime I speed burst behind or at the LOS that the tackles seem to break off the blocks and get me.

I also have good success doing the slight juke at the LOS. Just barely press the juke button and the RB should doo a quick step move.

That's all the help I can offer about the running game.

Just keep at it, my first 10-12 games I was awful at the run, which made me extremely angry becasue i was so good at the run in Madden 05. All I can say is follow your blocks and don't run in the same area all the time, the AI picks up on it, mix it up a bit and sooner or later you'll be busting down field highsteppin into the endzone.

The last game I played in my dynasty was my best all-around game I've ever had in a Madden (Leftwich smoked the Seattle D) but I still lost. I love this game so much.

I like the game, too.
At first I was disappointed that the graphics don't appear as sharp as ESPN 2k5 and the atmosphere is lacking (Madden and Michaels are horrible, should be ashamed of themselves, no halftime highlights like ESPN), and the fact that it doesn't have as many throwbacks as ESPN (absolutely incredible selection).
But the main thing is, the gameplay in Madden 06 is better than ESPN 2k5, which drove me crazy with all the interceptions (even with sliders turned to the absolute minimum) and low completion pct.

I hear ya, man.

Just picked up the game today and I must say it's solid, even as a 2k5 addict. I think it helps that the last Madden I owned was 2003 and the last NCAA I owned (and still own) is 2004. 2006 plays real tight, I'm pretty impressed.
