Only 5 min Quarters?

I was at EA's frorum and they are saying the game is only 5 min quarters and that it can't be adjusted. If true I hope the way it flows the stats are realistic.

Nothing official there BUT all screenshots I've seen show no more than 5 minutes.

I wouldn't trip off the screenshots thing. It's rare to see a madden screenshot with more than 5 mins on it.

Here is what has probably set off Skyboxer's alarm bells from that link:

Also, you must take into effect that this game runs the Madden Engine and since it does if you played a 5 min quarter game in madden it takes about an hour to complete and if you played a 15 min quarter game it takes about 3 hours to complete. Having said that the Developers have stated that one season could take up to 40 hours to complete. If you played all 16 of your games and did not Sim them with 15 min quarters it would take 48 hours just to play the games in the season.

That's why I think the quarters would be at most 7 min long, but are most likely 5 min.

Just my personal opinion but we don't know how many minute quarters Jon Robinson set the game to. I think he'd tell people that the quarters can't be adjusted if that were the case.

I really hope they are adjustable.

Well we know there is no difficuly levels and no sliders not sure about the quarter lengths but realistic stats are a must for the stratagy gamer. I am going to go ahead and get this game and hope that all holes that could be in the AI are quickly filled with patches.

There is also the factor of 15 minute quarters having outrageous scores and stats. It doesn't take long for people to figure out thier money plays to use.
