How would you stop Gold Tier TE??
 

He has Barry, Gold TE with Speed Burner (starts with an M), Andre Reed, Rickey Sanders

My bronze LB was already getting burned deep and my cb and safetys were busy or getting burned as well. Zones didnt seem to work.

It was really tough almost seemed like it was a cheap custom made character but it wasnt. Very Gonzales like

wait till he picks his play on offense so you can see how many of each position he has. if he has a play with a tight end, bring out one more corner than the number of wide receivers. the corner should defend him better than a linebacker. but if you do this be sure to shift your linebackers following his fullback first, or tight end if there is no full back.
or you could try to double the tight end with a safety, depending on his receivers. you never want to give up the long play.

The only Gold TE with Speed Burner is Shannon Sharpe. Put your best CB on him and hope for the best. I could give you more detailed tips, but you would have to tell me what other plays he was running. Usually it is not hard to stop one or two plays- it is when you run into someone who runs 15 or so plays well that it is really hard to anticipate what he is going to do next.

If you are referring to John Mackey, he is unstoppable. :y1:

Seriously though, dedicate your best cover guy to the TE and see what happens. You have to play man a lot for this to be effective though, unless your best cover guy is a linebacker.

I play a cover three and I man up my inverted safety on the te. I try to prevent big plays.

I use Ditka, and I have yet to have him stopped yet. Even in great coverage he just catches balls he has no business catching. I think that you have to manually swat the ball away.

What many do not realize is that this game forces you to think and to play. I hear many complaints about no INTs but once I started controlling the defensive backs myself and pressing RB on the 360 I was intercepting more passes. People need to remember that if you press Y on the 360 pad that the computer will decide whether to catch the ball or go for the tip. If you press X or is it LB then you try for the swat
and if you press RB then you go for the INT.

When I play a gold TE I mixed in a lot of linebacker blitzes then audible on of the blitzing lbs to cover the TE. this way the zone package keeps him contained and he has a LB shadowing him.... Worked very well againist Christenson and Ditka.(havent seen Mackey yet)
