How's the special teams this year?
 

Mostly the punts. Can you actually return punts in this years game?

You know what I mean. As in returning punts for more than 2 yards or having to fair catch every one...

Yep. You can definitely return them. Just don't kick to Hester.

Already returned a nice one with reggie bush. And almost broke another. Definetly like the punt returning in this years game.

yeh.
I almost returned one with Stanback the first time I turned on the game. He is only an 86 speed or something.

This is one area where this game shines, and shines brightly. It handles punt returns better than any Madden ever and better than my favorite game, APF

I have used average and great punt returners and there is a huge difference. Plus, the blocking is well done.

They really nailed it.

Not that it stops me from getting decent returns, but I hate the blocking. 2 guys over the gunner... one wanders away from him, and the other gets beat.

Because of their blocking mechanics, I can understand why EA did it this way. If both blockers attempted to block the gunner, he would never get down field since engaged blocks get stuck in mud until someone wins. Hopefully EA can get hand fighting and moving blocks in next year.

But yeah, once you catch the ball, things look much better and returns are possible.

Oh yeah,I was shocked when I took one to the house with Northcutt, then had another 30 yd return in the same game.
