We reported it first here yesterday and now we have the official Press Release and a high resolution trailer.

NBA 2K is the real deal, and until 2K Sports find a way to plant an elbow in your chest, it’s the closest thing to actually being there on the court. I can’t tell you how pumped I am to be on the cover of NBA 2K9 – it’s a real honor. Now watch out! Because this fall 2K Sports and I are going to deliver the best basketball video game out there, period.“

Usually these things have a smidge of actual game info, but the best I could find was this:

“With KG’s ongoing support and invaluable input during the development process of NBA 2K9, dedicated 2K Sports fans will be treated to a host of exciting new gameplay features and upgrades this year for an even deeper and more realistic basketball experience than ever before.”

So there will be new gameplay features and upgrades . . . nothing more specific than that.

Yeah, cool vid and the render of Garnett was beautiful - though I seriously doubt the actual in-game graphics will be anything near that, still one can hope and pray that they are

On another note: Is it just me or do the crowd animations appear to have been improved?

uh yea.... not in game graphics.

although I do not doubt they are in game "assets" just rendered at a RIDICULOUSLY high resolution and with other effects added.
