My Vision For Sports Gaming
 

Hopefully this post will be read here and put on the administrative page. I tried to post this there initially, but I was - DENIED! Anyway, just a little background of who I am and, what I would like to see to get keep sports gaming pure, and competitive, and most of all fun.

I have been playing sports games for a very long time. I am 34 years of age, and the first game I ever played was the original football game for the Atari 2600. As the old saying goes, "We have come a long way baby!"

I have an idea, that just maybe will strike a chord with other simulation style gamers and hopefully blossom into something special. Here it goes...

THE Operation Sports Decathlon

Take Ten prominent sports games...
Take the best players that play these games....

EXAMPLE:
FIFA 09
NCAA 09
MLB 08 The Show
APF 2K8
MADDEN 09
NHL 09
FIGHT NIGHT ROUND 4
TIGER WOODS 09
TOP SPIN 3
NBA 2K9

Okay, lets say that we hold a tournament to find the qualifying field for each of these games. And then it would be on!

Those who place in the top four are given points that will determine who is the best player.

FIRST PLACE = 25 POINTS
SECOND PLACE = 10 POINTS
THIRD PLACE = 5 POINTS
FOURTH PLACE = 3 POINTS

The player that has the most points at the end of the Decathlon would be crowned OS Champion for that year.

I would love to hear feedback on this.

I don't think it will ever happen. That's $600.00 worth of games and I know I would never ever want to play most of them, let alone spend $600.00 on them.

I think you would be better off trying to set up individual competitions for each sport.

That's a really cool idea. But like JMD said, that's a lot of dough. That being said, I already have MLB 08 the show and APF 08, am def getting ncaa, madden, nba 2k9 and tiger too.

I guess I am a big dreamer lol, but I have a lot of friends who play all kinds of sports games.

Yeah, games are like crack for me. Especially sports games.
