The Ultimate NCAA Playbook Guide - Part IV

Sometimes one of the hardest parts of getting your hands on NCAA Football is picking the playbook that is right for your style of play. Picking a playbook is hard enough in Madden with less than 40 options, let alone more than 100.

Over the next few days Operation Sports will be taking the time to link to the playbooks EA Sports was kind enough to provide PDFs of on their web site, as well as tell you what formations are included in each playbook. Hopefully this will help you narrow them down to a workable amount, so you can then nose through and find the perfect playbook for your game.

Today we'll be doing Ohio to Wyoming. Please note all offensive playbooks include a goalline and a hail mary formation.

I know EA is progressively doing a better job each year at getting actual team-specific playbooks and plays, but I'd like to see the playbooks mirror real life a bit more for 2010. I hope package subs will be in 2010, that is a must have feature that eliminates pausing to a menu to put in the players you want. Most importantly, does anybody have the latest word on when the 1st patch to fix the rosters will be released? Thank You!

Penn State's and Wisconsin's playbooks make total sense.

no problem guys. glad to help out.

i hear ya janglar. at first glance the playbooks look great. tons of formations and different looks to give teams. but when you start looking them over there really isn't a lot of variation from one playbook to the other as far as the actual plays are concerned. its the same handful of pass patterns and run plays just out of different formations.

and while i agree in college patterns and plays within a given system might not differ a lot, the patterns and plays for a team like Florida don't look much different than say Notre Dame or Ohio State.
If you can read this, you don't need glasses.
