MLB Power Pros 2008 - MLB Life thread
Use this thread to share stories of how your MLB Life players are progressing through their careers. I have yet to really dive into this, but I'll write stuff up as I start playing it more in earnest.

Re: MLB Power Pros 2008 - MLB Life thread
Started my life out as the young and upcoming Willie Skipps, 2b for the Mets. I started out like a rocket in ST, but the time came when the coach told me I would be sent down.
I must have taken the news real bad, because in my first 3 games, I didn't get a hit at all - and I was sitting at 0-11 in my fourth game!
Then came the Phillies farm team, and I was determined to get back on track. Off Brett Myers, I crushed 2 HR's, and since then, I've not looked back. Through 14 games, I am hitting .352 with 2 HR's and 4 RBI's - as the manager has me hitting either 1st or second..
Just awaiting my call up!Comment

Re: MLB Power Pros 2008 - MLB Life thread
I got 2 hits in each Spring Training game and so made the MLB roster for the Cubs as a CF.
I've started about a third of the games, and am hitting just over .400 with 13 stolen bases through about 30 games. What's frustrating is that my "friend" is the starting CF even though he's hitting in the low .200's. Was named ROM for April.
Great mode. EA could learn a lot from MLBPP on how to develop an immersive franchise/dynasty mode...Comment

I ended up winning the AL ROY
What i don't like is that your first offseason you have to resign with your former team no matter what.
Has anybody gotten the option to have your player married in MLB life with a created player, i know you can with an actual mlb player but i guess you can't with a created player.
Also, has anybody met another girl besides Mia?
If so how?MLB: St. Louis Cardinals

Re: MLB Power Pros 2008 - MLB Life thread
I tried in success mode - twice - to create a flame-throwing lefty starter to use with Life mode. First one got canned in AA. Second never got the call to MLB. I need to pay more attention to the text and/or manual, because I'm obviously not doing it very well.
I then tried to create a slugging SS who could replace that bum, Lugo. That guy did make it to the majors. He's got good power and decent contact and defense, but no trajectory or speed. So he rips line drives all over the place, but only rarely gets to second base. At the All-Star break, he's only homered a couple times - both on "mistake" pitches. Boring.
I'll probably try once more, and actually pay close attention to what's going on rather than speeding through the text boxes. Part of me kind of likes the fact that it's possible (in fact, easy) to fail at success mode. That's realism for ya
Edit: I guess that's more about success mode than life mode. Maybe we need a success mode thread. Or in my case, a failure mode thread.Comment

Re: MLB Power Pros 2008 - MLB Life thread
Yeah sometimes it gets really difficult to hit home runs sometimes.
You can really feel hot and cold streaks in my rookie season with my first baseman i hit a homerun in 6 straight games and then i went homerless for like 15 games. It gets frustrating but i still love it.MLB: St. Louis Cardinals

Can you earn shop money playing Life mode?Comment

Re: MLB Power Pros 2008 - MLB Life thread
Actually in life mode there is no shop.
There is just a screen that shows equipment and things to do in your free time and things to help increase attributes when practicing by yourself. You can buy houses, cars and make donations from that screen as well. You get money from your salary.MLB: St. Louis Cardinals
