sucks as a sunbelt fan but the game not being correct. just another oversight?

Nope. Not an oversight. EA does that so that you have to purchase NCAA '10.

i'm sure there would be conference scheduling issues and an extra team in a conference would probably cause the game to completely crash.

I don't think WKU is officially in the Sun Belt for football until 2009. ESPN has them listed as independents.

I don't see how it would be that hard to program. They did it in Madden the year that the Texans were coming into the league. After the first year it added the Texans.

Western Kentucky isn't officially in the Sun Belt yet. Next year they are playing sun belt teams, but they are not officially in the conference until next year.

right, but they are moving into the sun belt and they have the sun belt logos on the field.
