Being the Raider's coach, I am always "in the hot seat". At the end of the year (I am still in year one) can I get fired if my approval drops too low? If so is it game over or will I be able to pick up a new team that has an opening?

yeah you can, I know because I got fired by the Raiders after 1 year.
There were other teams interested, I went to the Dpolphins and got fired again becuase the GM kept telling me to cut dead weight and I got the team into "irrevocable salary cap damage" or something.
After the second time I had to retire, nobody wanted me.FJF -

Try and keep your owner approval high, but before you do anything look at the cap impact of the move. Cutting dead weight players is great and all, but not if you'll end up with a $16 million cap penalty.
I really don't care what my coaches or players think, if they don't want to be here, we can win without them.Comment

20 huh? Cool. I started at 45 "hot seat" won my first 3 games, went to 80 and "doing ok".my rating is down in the mid 60 after we lost the last 2 games and after resigning 2 players the owner (and I) wanted next year cap number is getting really small. Even if I stay above 20 I may have issues if I need to sigh some big name FA. Thanks for the info though.Comment

Are you guys just bypassing all of the GM Goals, and such?

I just had a trivia bit on my loading screen that says if you quit or are fired you may be offered a job if a team is in need of a new coach, otherwise you may be forced to retire if nobody wants you.
THAT is NICE
I miss that aspect of HC06 where you felt like you had to earn your job and contract negotiations and interview...etc.
