Madden Training Tips
If you are one of the few gamers out there who have been struggling with the Madden Training mode, Noah Weber is stepping in to give you some tips on how to up your game in each mini-game. Check out what he has to say in his article, Madden Training Tips.
"OK, so you’ve started up a new franchise and you’re ready to turn your team into the next dynasty. You’re going to have to get it done on Sundays, but first you need to learn how to get it done on the practice field. Here are a few tips to help you master some of the drills, and build your players into superstars. (Note: these tips are for the standard training drills, not the virtual trainer)"Tags: None -
My recommendations (and for those who don't feel like reading the whole thing):
Offensive RB Challenge: Spin
Defensive RB Challenge: Don't get blocked
Offensive Coverage Challenge: Space yourself enough, catch it in the endzone, duh?
Defensive Coverage Challenge: Stay inside, otherwise good luck.
QB Challenge: I can't stress this enough: forget touchdowns - it's all about the consecutive catch count. Yes, TDs will give you points, but just go for the open man regardless of how close or far he is. -

Re: Madden Training Tips
The coverage Drill: Let the computer take control. Once the pass gets thrown take over your DB and either tackle or defend the pass. Keeping the WR out of the endzone is all you need.
RB challenge: Head straight to the outside, this works if you have a fast RB. You'll outrun all the defenders up the sideline into the endzone.
Run Defense: Take control of the back defender (usually your SS), let the LBs make the plays and just loiter in the backfield in case the RB breaks free. If playing franchise see DL drill below to make this a lot easier...
Bench Press: There is another thread where I have described my unorthodox controller holding to make this work...
OL: Such an easy drill. If you are after pancakes start running back to the running back to give you some room to charge into the oncoming defense. One block usually has your RB running up the sideline to daylight. I have managed to score 140,000+ points on this drill in all-madden...
40 yard dash: I struggle on this, can't seem to make it in all-madden. I think the key is timing, its not about speed but rythm... again, I struggle on this one...
DL: This can be real simple if you want it to be in franchise... sign a slow FB and put him in the starting RB position, start the drill and charge into the backfield taking out the slow FB with the hit stick...Comment

Re: Madden Training Tips
I got a good chuckle out of your D-line recommendation. I'm actually getting killed on that one because my starting RB is very fast. Needless to say he just runs around my D-lineman in that drill. I may not switch to a slow FB, but I may at least put my BU RB in which has average speed? Otherwise there's no point in doing that drill with my slow lineman. The coverage Drill: Let the computer take control. Re: Madden Training Tips
Great recommendation with the D-line drill, I actually have been doing that myself all over the place in franchise mode:
QB: Before the drill, substitute all of your defensive backs with their back-ups.
RB: Before the drill, substitute all of your defensive lineman and linebackers with your backups.
OL: Very easy, I can usually get 143k on this.
WR: Before the drill, substitute your best cornerback with your worse.
40: I'm not too good at this yet, but getting better. It does seem to be about rhythm more than anything.
Bench: I suck at this, as pointed out in another thread.Comment

Re: Madden Training Tips
So this is kinda cheesey but I tried this method in a couple of different ways. I was tired of simming the drills I suck at(most of em) And tired of advancing ratings a little at a time at certain positions. So I signed a fullback, can't remember his name, I think it was Brantley. Looking at his ratings I believe he used to be a DT or maybe a RG. His Impact blocking and runn block are great. His spd, agi, and acc are horrible. So I put him at RB for the D-line drill and it worked, although he did bust a couple of crazy runs lol. I also edited his position to put him at CB, ya I know very unrealistic but kinda funny. So I ran the WR catch drill against him and needless to say did very well against his 59 spd rating lol. I also put my 3rd TE T.Curtis in at WR to run the DB defensive coverage drill, witch I am VERY bad at. It also worked wonders. I think I will try my 300 LB FB at WR next to see if he can ever burn me. Oh another insight I tried that worked great is waiting to take control of the DB in the pass defense drill till the ball arrives. I didn't know u could do this. The coverage Drill: Let the computer take control. Once the pass gets thrown take over your DB and either tackle or defend the pass. Re: Madden Training Tips
I use to have the same problem with this (getting around 5.9 ect... I've improved a bit but still only getting around 4.8).
My advice is start slow and go one after the other not in a one two motion. Do it like its a beat 1,2,3,4,1,2,3,4, and say it in your head so you keep time.
Not sure if that made sense but yeah

NBA - Cleveland Cavaliers
NFL - Atlanta Falcons

Re: Madden Training Tips
40 yard dash is all about rythm. i can get 4.4's at worst with a decent player.
i use index fingers, clamp the controller somewhere, and flick the sticks towards you and let them come back up.Comment
