I downloaded this little gem last night. At 19.99, this is a bargain. Wipeout HD possibly has the most stunning visuals I've ever seen in a game. 60 fps with all kinds of activity on and off the track. If you're a fan of the series this is a must buy.

I haven't played a lot yet (workin' out a custom soundtrack) but like what I played so far. It's pretty cool how the music effects still affect custom soundtrack songs. I wasn't sure if I should buy it but since I was getting the SCIV DLC and had to add at least $5 I went for it anyway.

Love that one...I've propelled myself straight into that EG-X sign a few times by turboing (or whatever) off that ramp.

Sony released an update for Wipeout HD today that made the following changes:

1. With the patch, online races will start after 1 minute and 20 seconds when the room is half full. According to Sony one minute of waiting time can be added by the host.

2. Campaign has also been altered. Every mode now has a difficulty setting. Previously only races and tournaments had this option.

I am downloading this game right now. i liked the original on PS one back in the day, so hopefully this is good too.

I've really enjoyed playing this game. I never played the original, so I didn't really know what to expect (other than a couple of friends telling me it would be good).

Definitely a lot of fun and quite a challenge on the harder difficulties.

I am really liking this game. I have completed the first 3 grids, but its starts to become a challenge after that.

Add me to the mix. I have had this game since it first came out, but I just started playing it again since the patch came out. It really is a fun game. I would love to beat all y'all in a tournament.

WipEout HD Game update V1.30 to be released April 8

Update includes an all-new podium that displays the top three finishers after each online race or tournament.

Players will also have the chance of being awarded one of 33 online badges, even if they aren’t part of the top three.

Connect easily with your friends

Game invites have now been introduced to WipEout® HD to make it easy for you to invite your friends to join your game or for them to invite you!
In addition you will also be informed of any friends with an active online game and have the ability to join that game instantly!

Watch races in progress

If a race has started before you have had chance to join it, Spectator mode will allow you to watch that race. Within spectator mode you can choose from 4 camera angles and select which ship to watch.

After the race has been completed you will be taken back to the lobby with the other players so you can compete with them in the next race.

Additional Options: Finally to provide more variety when setting up an online race we have added a few additional options

• HUD Weapon Hints on/off.
• Opponents – Choose to create a Public, Friends only or Invite only game. - Barrel Rolls on/off…
• Pilot Assist Allowed on/off.
• Number of laps (max 20).

Thanks Flawless! You are always right on top of things. Whenever I see your name, I know that an update is coming out. This is great news since this is one of my favorite games.

Nice! I haven't played this game in a while. The trophies in this game are brutally hard IMO, and I'm at the point where all the ones that I haven't collected already are pretty much beyond my skill level. Multiplayer is still fun though.
