I'm just finishing up watching the second game (VAN @ CGY) of the HNIC double-header on the NHL Network. It's gonna be awesome to have this every Saturday night, along with Versus' two games and the Penguins. Can't wait to see all these rough western Canadian matchups, especially later in the year...

The 2008-09 NHL Regular Season
I thought it might be nice to have a general NHL season thread for us to talk about games, trades, injuries, etc. I'll try to edit in some good hockey-related links to keep in the first post for reference.

Re: The 2008-09 NHL Regular Season
I must express that Columbus being in the Western Conference is a stupid idea all around.
Not only are the games on late, but they have nearly no shot at making the playoffs. I believe they would be a top 8 team in the East.Too Old To Game Club

Re: The 2008-09 NHL Regular Season
I was about to make a thread like this seeing as we can discuss nightly games in one thread, rather than having four million different threads.
I don't have much time to type write now but man are the Rangers looking good!Comment

If you're going with that it's the same for Detroit and a few other Western Conference teams...sucks, but just how it is.Nintendo Switch Friend Code: SW-7009-7102-8818Comment

Pretty much anyone in the central. I hope if Bettman actually follows through on more expansion or relocation, if the Jackets survive, they are moved to the Eastern Conference.Too Old To Game Club

I'm just hoping maybe someday they will actually sniff the playoffs. I'm sure it would be a first round bow-out, but at least we could say we made it.Comment

Should be a fun slate of games this afternoon for Canadian Thanksgiving/Columbus Day.Comment

Re: The 2008-09 NHL Regular Season
They have a decent chance this year. Brassard and Jake look really good, like they are ready this year. Also, down on the farm, Filatov has scored a goal in every North American Professional game he has played. Should see him in Columbus at some point this year.
They have the talent, maybe a deadline deal for a PPQB and another good defensive player and they'll be a pretty legit team.Too Old To Game Club

Re: The 2008-09 NHL Regular Season
Its gonna take me some time to get used to posting in here. I was gonna post a comment the other night, but I figured it was gonna come off as too noobish/obvious seen as how I'm still trying to get back in the hockey loop and still trying to re-learn the behaviors of all the playersComment

Re: The 2008-09 NHL Regular Season
The Bruins trade defenseman Andrew Alberts to Philadelphia for a prospect and 4th round pick. Apparently that pick will become a 3rd rounder if Alberts re-signs with the Flyers after the season. Puck Daddy takes a look at Alberts' recent history with the Flyers, as Scott Hartnell was suspended for a questionable hit on him last year.Comment

Re: The 2008-09 NHL Regular Season
Glad to see Montreal start the season with 5 out of 6 points. The team is looking good and we beat a very good Philadelphia team on the road. Also glad to see the new acquisitions like Lang playing well and making every minute count on the ice.Comment

Any ways Sharks are in a battle tonight with L.A.
