Teams you struggle against?
Curious question, are there any teams you guys struggle against? I usually play as Chicago, and San Jose always give me a hard time in this game. I could be winning 2 - 0, and they come back and win. There are always a lot of penalties and back and forth gameplay. It's created a "rivalry" feeling with me. Anyone else?Tags: None -

Toronto, I can not beat Toronto to save my life. It is dumbfounding to me. -
Re: Teams you struggle against?
Same here. I don't have much problem with Detroit, but Anaheim does give me issues. Makes you wonder if EA programmed that into the game considering Chicago does poorly against Anaheim in REAL life, yet they dominated Detroit last year winning their series. Just a thought.
update: Ok...I'm just about convinced it's programmed in or something. I just played anaheim again. I had 41 shots to their 14, yet they still won 2 -1. Any shot I took, wouldn't go in, yet the same shot they took, went in. Then, they get a breakaway somehow, and score with 2 mins left in the 3rd. My guys would skate across the crease, no goal. It's like some invisible wall is up. I love this game, but there are some issues that really frustrate!Last edited by Steven547; 11-29-2008, 06:19 PM.Comment

Re: Teams you struggle against?
Kind of weird, I was just going to post a thread like this.
Anyways, I play as Detroit and I ALWAYS struggle against Dallas. Don't know what it is, but Morrow always scores at least 1 goal a game against me. I'm 0-4 against Dallas, in my Wings Dynasty where I play all the games.MLB - Detroit Tigers
NFL - Detroit Lions
NHL - Detroit Red Wings
NBA - Detroit Pistons
NCAAF - Michigan Wolverines
NCAAB - Kentucky Wildcats

Re: Teams you struggle against?
As much as EA says there is no "comeback" AI and that it is only "strategy" adjustments, I would have to disagree. I was playing as Dallas against Edm. I was winning 3 - 0 going into the 2nd period. Suddenly, like everyone on the boards has mentioned, Edm becomes unstoppable and scores on goals where you literally sit there with the jaw dropped. For 1 1/2 periods, Edm couldn't get anything started...suddenly out of nowhere, I can't even poke check them or check them.
I like the "rivalry" idea, but EA should still base this game on the player ratings and eliminate the comeback AI. After awhile, you don't even want to play certain teams (me as Chicago vs Anaheim or San Jose) because you know that no matter what, they will win the game. Someone posted that they were something like 0 - 13 against a "rival" team.Comment

Re: Teams you struggle against?
Funny you mention them. I'm facing them in the Finals in my season.
And the team I struggle against the most is the Sens. They kill me most of the time. Alfie, Spezz and Heatley just score with ease.Comment

Re: Teams you struggle against?
I finally beat Anaheim lastnight playing as the Blackhawks. But I have to tell ya, EA needs to seriously admit the comeback AI exists along with the cheese goals by the CPU. I was up 2 - 0 going into the 2nd. Suddenly, Anaheim becomes unstoppable gets a rebound, and scores from a little past the red line (about 3ft to the right on the red line), by shooting it and it miraculously goes between my goalies legs. Then, a few minutes later, they score again coming across the crease. These are goals that my own players attempt, and nothing happens. This happens A LOT. The sudden, "we are unstoppable and our shot accuracy goes up to 100%" CPU needs to come to a stop. EA needs to base the games on the player ratings and let the CPU play according to that, and not base it on the fact that Chicago has a poor record against Ana in REAL life, so let's program that into this game. It takes away the fun when you know you'll lose all the time no matter what you do.Comment

Re: Teams you struggle against?
Tampa Bay and this goes back to NHL07 through the current. I use the Devils and it's always a hard time with them for some reason. Shots on goal are always heavily in my favor and time of possession but they always seem to stay in it or mount a comeback.Comment

Re: Teams you struggle against?
haha same here. My first season in be-a-pro and I make to the finals and Columbus beats me.
I cannot what so ever beat the Edmonton Oilers or San Jose.Comment

Re: Teams you struggle against?
I have trouble with every team in Dynasty. It's rough with Theodore manning the pipes, that guy's agility is almost a negative in my books. He goes spread eagle so often that he ends up giving out horrible rebounds. Anyways, the ducks are brutal in game. Talk about pressure. They roared me 6-0 a few days ago, 5 of the goals were nasty Theodore rebounds. Meanwhile we blasted them for even shots. Ovie was launching cannons from the circle but hit the post about 3 times. Ugly game. Before I'd see him in Boulder, I'd see my son in Hell.Comment

Re: Teams you struggle against?
I was really skeptical about the "come-back" thing in this series. I play online primarily so I was never really exposed to it. In my first 10 games of this dynasty on superstar with the Caps the cpu has scored in the last minute in 9 of the games. The odd one out was a 5-1 routing of the stars by yours truly, I wouldn't let them have the puck. Otherwise it's there. Weak wrist shots from the high point float over Theodore's shoulder. Pucks are shot from the red line at hit Theo's helmet only to bounce downward into the net? Wtf is that. That last minute is nasty, but it's because the CPU goes Full attack on settings and throws the books at you. Sucks.I finally beat Anaheim lastnight playing as the Blackhawks.
