Is Head Coach 2010 officially dead?

I hate assuming anything, but is the lack of any news proof that it's not happening? Maybe I already missed that it but I didn't see it. I am very bummed about it and almost as upset as I was when EA and the NFL killed 2K6.

i personally woud rather have a HC 2012 or something like that, since i doubt i will "finish" the game anytime soon. with 4 completley different draft classes of 15 years each, and me only 1 draft thru, this game will take me at least a few years to do all 60 possible drafts, not to mention playing every game.

and even if EA does can HC, i think the amount of money they could make will be too tempting and it will come again 3-4 years from now, with hopefully the same devs as this time

Can you explain this a little bit. I've been interested in this game but noticed that people have been using spoiler tags for the incoming rookies. Does this mean that the draft classes are the same for everyone who buys this game?

If they don't make a HC 2010, then they should atleast work on a major patch next year for the 2009 game. Even if it was an expansion that could be installed on the 360 or whatever (like the game can), a patch/expansion would be feasible.

Audibles, fix the defining moments, maybe put in some commentary and some other stuff or atleast fix the sound so we can hear the PA Announcer all the time and not just in some games.

from what ive noticed, during the preseason, the game will assign you a draft class. I happened to get the marques acho/caraun lawrence/jemarcus boone/joe kain class, so the next 14 years after that will be set in stone. However, you might get a different class, and then all 15 years would be totally different from what I have.

and also, only like 10-20% of the rookies have the same name every time(so that everytime i get this class, there will ALWAYS be a joe kain). the majority of the rookies are randomly generated, just the ones where shefter has a dialoge on will have the same name

i wouldnt say its "officially" dead. i dont recall there being any announcement of 09 until at least february or march. personally, i dont think hc2010 is likely though.

I will be surprised if there is a HC10, but I hope there is one. I would definitely rather see another HC than another Madden. If they do make HC10 I will buy that and for the onfield experience I will get NCAA, and won't even bother with Madden.

Just to add to that point. Sure there is 4 draft classes and while that seems limited. I've been playing the game almost every night for the past 3 months and I'm in the 2020 year of 1 draft class. So I have 3 more different draft classes I can go into.

Also, the nice thing the programmers have done is for each of the draft years for each of the draft classes. They have story's of the best and sleeper picks in the draft. So its great!!!

I can't see how having four draft classes in limiting given that the way the draft classes are constructed, with backstories and all that, shows a lot of depth. To do that over four times is pretty good, IMO.

re the 15 seasons referenced above: does that mean you can only play a career mode for 15 seasons? Or does the draft keep going with all created players after that?

the career(dont quote me on this) is 15 years, and then you are forced to retire i guess. you can start a new one, save during the preseason, get a new draft class - or if you get the same one u just finished quit and reload - and play another 15 years. So while each career is 15 total years, you can have 60 "unique" years.

just because there is no news about it doesn't mean anything. josh has said they are busy with other projects that doesn't mean that its dead. i hope not this the best of the pro games.

That's what I figured. Too bad, but I'm only in season three now so we'll see if it actually becomes an issue.
