Job swapping. ESPN will announce today that for a Jan. 7 basketball doubleheader, its on-air crews will swap roles. NBA announcers Jeff Van Gundy, Mark Jackson and Mike Tirico will call Duke-Davidson, followed by Dick Vitale — who called ESPN NBA games in the early 1980s — and Dan Shulman on a Denver Nuggets-Miami Heat NBA game. ESPN executive Norby Williamson says it's "a natural progression to make connections between college and the NBA. We try to cultivate basketball fans." So, can we expect more on-air swaps? "We never say no to anything," he says.

Oh Gawd, he'd be all over Kobe's/K.G.'s nuts. But I guess pretty much everyone already does that anyways
I like the idea of this.. kind of like when Charles/Kenny/Ernie do a game.. a nice change of pace just please don't do it too often.Comment

Re: This one should be fun
Stephan A. Smith and Dick Vitale would probably end up fighting in the booth cause neither one would shut up long enough for the other one to say a word. Or they would end up screaming at each other. Dickie V is probably gonna go crazy watching D-Wade play. If I'm not doing everything else, I might catch the games that night.Comment

Dicky V...
Does anyone have a handgun or a running car in a closed garage?
I would rather listen to Razor blades going against a chalkboard 4000x all day instead of Dicky V for 2 1/2 hours.Comment
