I've decided to give something back to the OS community...

I'm working on the classic/historic teams for the 360. I also want to give credit to Jason2112 as his regular NCAA edits will be included in this file. I am editing the classic rosters, moving backwards from 2008 all the way back to the '50's.

Version 1 is up in my EA locker...it includes 6 teams (thus far):

- 2008 Kansas Jayhawks
- 2007 Florida Gators
- 2006 George Mason Patriots
- 2005 North Carolina Tarheels
- 2005 Illinois Fighting Illini
- 2004 Connecticut Huskies

Please understand that I am in my mid-late 30's...I have a full-time job, a wife and 4 kids under the age of 10. This is a tedious process but I am striving for accuracy with regard to names, home states, correct depth charts, a few equipment edits...I am NOT touching the player attributes. But these rosters will be pretty solid and a LOT of changes have to be made (Illinois and George Mason were a total mess). NOTE: I am using the information posted by whittleboy615 elsewhere in this forum.

send me a friend request (GT: mkharsh33), BUT PLEASE DELETE YOURSELF AFTER GETTING THE ROSTERS. I am more than happy to grant all requests but I need you to help me out and remove yourself.

(if someone wants to upload them here - via xchange - please feel free to do so...i can't figure out how to do that as my memory card never reads the file i put on it from my 360).

Any updates I make to the file will be noted with the version and changes...this may take me a few days, so I ask for your patience. Thanks!

I just got done doing this for PS3 and I have one bit of advice: KEEP YOUR LAPTOP AT HAND!!!! Whittleboy did some great research and gives some fantastic links, but as you get closer to the 60s and 50s, you'll need to dig a little to find team photos. Heads up: as far as i can recall, any Duke team prior to circa 1995 should be wearing Adidas. And 82 UNC wore Converse. They don't have many Converse sneakers so I used Air Force One (most basic looking shoe I could find). Good luck!

thanks for the heads up!

i'm not doing any shoe changes...it just take too loooooooooong. i'm doing the basic face and hair adjustments, and also the player changes he notes. no ratings changes either. i want to work on getting a good file put together...maybe i'll go back and fix everything when i'm finished, but not sure yet.

i have a lot of notes in front of me and the really old teams (from the 50's) are a mess like you said...for some reason it won't let me give all of them their correct jersey number.

but i worked on this some more last night after posting version 1 and now have 11 teams done. i'll be working on this during the holiday as i'll be off of work after today. should have another version up late tonight...

I don't think players are allowed to wear numbers ending in 6 thru 9. EA got the rule right, I think, but for the 50s teams, it messed things up. And for the record, I'm in the same situation as you: mid 30s, married, 2 kids, and a full time job. Its tough to find time to do things like this. Be prepared for a long process, but I'm sure lots of 360 gamers will appreciate your sacrifice and effort. (Once you see some of the shoes they have on some teams, you may change your mind about editing them. LOL!)

thanks for the encouragement...well, i've got 11 teams done already...i'll work on a few more tonight and then i'll post version 2. it's one of those things that sounds like a good idea until you get into it and realize how big a project it is.

NOTE: I must also add that I'm not sure if my efforts here are really wanted...I've received no responses and I'm not sure if anyone here wants this file. I'm not trying to whine or complain, but this has taken a TON of time. If no one really wants these I'll no longer be posting any files and will probably just finish them for myself. I know I'm not a "name" here at OS but I wanted to contribute and feel these rosters are a nice addition to Jason2112's updated rosters.

if you guys sent a friend request i have accepted...more than happy to help out. jason's rosters are outstanding and i only want to add to what he's done.

i have nearly 50 teams done and will be posting a file late tonight...should be able to knock these out by the weekend.

i took a LONG look at the '79 teams (michigan st. and indiana st.)...i am a big time larry bird fan and wanted to spend extra time working on those 2 teams, so i spent at least an hour alone trying to find things on the internet about them.

the base rosters they provide are TERRIBLY screwed up, so they take a lot of work.

if you find anything wrong (my biggest problem is getting the skin color correct on some guys) please let me know. after i get them done i'd like to post one final set with anything you guys find that needs fixed.

i fixed a few attributes of players (mostly the star players) but left the majority of guys untouched. the only problem i see statistic-wise is that the cpu ALWAYS shoots over 60% on me and i need to figure out a way to tone that down...other than that the game is pretty fun. i am a 2k guy and still like that over EA's basketball games, but this will do.

the problem i'm having is that i've received almost 300 friend requests in the last few days...and the people who are picking up the rosters are not deleting themselves, so i have to figure out who has them and who doesn't.

but i'd be more than happy to add you if you still need them...if you were deleted is was an oversight.

Hey Mark!, hope all is well with you and the family. Love reading your posts and have nothing but pleasures from your classic 2k rosters. I am currently on a NCAA CLASSIC/ALL-TIME roster fix and noticed the thread and would like to know how can I get in on these? May you provide a downloadable link? Thanks so much!
