Mid-February would be a good guess. As for Arshavin to Arsenal being part of the update, don't hold your breath...

Not sure how the ALS stuff will affect it, but I would assume that you'll have to download the update through the in-game menu or save the squad file after starting an online match...

They've had over a month to prepare for AA joining the gunners, I would be majorly disappointed if they left him out of the update. How hard can it be? I'm sure he has a clone somewhere in the game and it shouldn't take over a month to figure out one guy's stats.

zak - his point was that the AA deal did not seem likely at the time, not that EA would elave him off... AA is on russia's interantional team in the game. should be simple... if the deal actually goes through.

Exactly. Now the FA is saying that it might be 2-3 days before they make a decision and it's a 50/50. Check out the Arsenal thread in the main soccer forum if you want the details...

I've been updating some of the roster moves myself, but I wouldn't mind the new update just for those players that ratings have changed.

For those that want Arshavin on Arsenal. There is a way you can do it.

Go to the transfer section and select International transfers. Go to the Russia natl team and take Arshavin off the team. You can select a lower rating player and replace him with that player. After this, he will be a free agent and simply go to the Club Transfer and move him from free agency to Arsenal. Then go back to Intl. Transfer and put him back on the team, so that you can play with him on the Russian team.

For those that want Arshavin on Arsenal. There is a way you can do it.

What you described does work. I did this in 08 to free up some of the Russians & others for manager mode and just did it yesterday to add Arshavin to Arsenal. Boy is he ever a slippery devil with the ball!

If the update comes out Friday or even next week, I would be thrilled. I've been waiting on it to reset my custom tactics and finally give a Nottingham Forest MM a go. I set up all the English teams with CTs based on team strength as discussed months ago to play an FA Cup with Arsenal and the results are very satisfying. I just need to map out & refine them for the other prominent leagues, apply them (tedious to say the least) and I'll be good to go...

Have you uploaded your custom tactics to EA Share? I would love to incorporate your settings, I haven't really spent time to adjust the tactics so I am a bit clueless when it comes to that.

Also, in order to get Arshavin to Arsenal, you could also head into the Club Transfer section and do a player search for him. He should come up, affiliated with the Russian National team and you can transfer him to Arsenal. Same principal, but it saves you a step.

No, but it's somewhat pointless as you can only have 10 online at a time and I'll probably end up with 20-25 (if I follow through of course). Also, I found it incredibly hard to find the ones I wanted when therizing put his up for me to DL. His CTs are the basis for the ones I'm using -- they're tailored so that strong teams will come at you and weaker ones will play more conservatively as you go down the ladder. I've noticed a definite improvement in play going through the FA Cup, as the lower league teams played closer to how they would against a big team like Arsenal.

I only have the English teams where (I think) I want them. I need to work out how I want to set up Spain & Italy and I'll probably just use the English ones for Germany as they're relatively similar styles. I'll also need to decide how I'll want to handle the various Champions League qualifiers and/or smaller leagues for any European tournament play. As you can see it's going to be quite a project, so I'm not sure when I'll find the time to do it. I'm off on President's Day, so hopefully I'll have the theory worked out by then and can get to the pain-staking process of assigning them...

I'm going to have to write everything down to keep it straight, so when (if?) I get to do that, I can post the info... but I truly can't promise that I'll be able to do this on the scale I've described!
