Boise State National champs 2009?
I've seen several, very early preseason polls by actual AP voters and Boise State averages about 10 with a high of 8 and with. So, if they go undefeated and are the only one or one of only two undefeateds, will they play for the National Championship? This could be the year a "mid major" gets in and Utah has made it all happen with their win over Alabama and a #2 finish.NCAA: BSU/GONZ

Boise's schedule next year is incredibly weak. Half of their schedule finished with 3 or fewer wins or was 1AA, and unlike Utah, they don't have a few possibly ranked teams.
It would probably require them winning every game by 20+ and every BCS team having 2 losses. And then they'd have to beat the Tebow.
I'm not seeing it.Comment

Unless they are playing in the SEC West, no chance.-August 17, 1960Originally posted by VP Richard M. NixonI always remember that whatever I have done in the past, or may do in the future, Duke University is responsible one way or the other.

I don't know guys, a lot of experts say it's gonna happen. the schedule is weak sure but it always is and it's always gonna be til they move conferences and Nevada and Fresno State are gonna be pretty good and could be ranked when they play them if they are scheduled late enough in the season they could be ranked in the top 15 or so. And with Utah pushing a lawsuit on the BCS because of what happened this year. Anyway it's just a dream of mine, people used to laugh at me ten years ago when I said BSU would be a regular top 15 team in 5 years and 20 years ago when I said they'd move to D1A within 10 years and now people laugh at me when I say they will be number one in 2 years.NCAA: BSU/GONZ

Name them
Nevada will probably lose to Mizzou and Notre Dame, and Fresno has a 3 game road stretch of Wisconsin, Cinci, and Illinois. Neither of them will be receiving votes, let alone ranked.Nevada and Fresno State are gonna be pretty good and could be ranked when they play them
Like the saying goes, those who don't learn from history are doomed to get curb stomped by the SEC for their hubris. It's better for WAC teams to talk smack on a message board than to actually have to play SEC teams.Oh we want all of it.Comment

I didn't mean a ot of expert think BSU will do it next year but a lot think a "mid major" will will play for the title within the next few years.Name them

Nev will get passed ND. Fresno should go 2-1 in those games.
I understand you're just an SEC homer but don't get me wrong the SEC is badass but so is Boise State you'll see. I know the WAC blows without NEvada BSU and FSU but that doesn't mean Boise State isn't good enough to play with the SEC.NCAA: BSU/GONZ

Boise State plays in the WAC, a non-BCS Conference, so it won't happen. If they win out, they will get to play in a BCS Bowl Game, but that is the best you can hope for.I've seen several, very early preseason polls by actual AP voters and Boise State averages about 10 with a high of 8 and with. Boise has lost to its last 3 SEC opponents by an average of 27 points and none of the games were even that close.Comment
