    Greatest Catch in NFL History

Santonio Holmes now owns that distinction.

lol, yeah no way it's the greatest in NFL history. I'm not even sure I'd call it the greatest in playoff or superbowl history but it was one hell of a catch. He should've caught the one before. Two amazing passes by Ben in a row.

Did MassNole forget David Tyree's catch?

I was caught up in the euphoria myself, but this SB and players in it are the flavors of the month.

The peking order of greatness regarding plays that are being called "The Catch" around here goes like this, IMO:

                -Dwight Clark
                -David Tyree
                -Santonio Holmes

It was a nice catch, but not even close to the Greatest.

                      I suppose I'm biased towards Clark's because:

                      1) it was the original "The Catch",
                      2) it effectively started the dynasty of the 1980s 49ers, and
                      3) that play sent my Cowboys into a downward spiral through the 1980s, after being a year-in, year-out favorite in the NFC for much of the 1970s

I hear the argument for Tyree's catch, however, and I still think Holmes' catch was great.

Yea, the Tyree catch is definitely up there.

Hell, that whole play in sequence itself is up there IMO.

Lynn Swawn should be part of this disscusion, oh and he made many great catches on the biggest stage, not just a single one!

Holmes catch I have seen a millions times in the NFL every year. A ton of NFL Wr's make a catch like that. Its should not be even be mentioned.

It was a clutch performance for sure, not the best catch.

I ve seen 50 more spectacular catches than that.
