2/10 roster corrections
As requested, this is the place to post any errors found with the latest NHL 09 roster update. Please use the other 2/10 roster thread for general discussion of the update to keep this on track and easy to follow. Thank you gentlemen (and ladies?)...Tags: None -
Re: 2/10 roster corrections
Okay, so I guess this has to be re-written here, right?
1. Jonas Hiller (G, Anaheim) in real-life is catching with his right hand. Also, I think he and Giguere should be about the same rating right now, maybe at 84/85? Look at Hiller's stats and tell me he isn't deserving of these kind of ratings.
2. Bobby Ryan (LW/RW, Anaheim) in real-life is almost scoring a point per game and second in rookie scoring behind Versteeg despite having played 10 games less than the latter. Versteeg has a rating of 80. Bobby should easily deserve a rating of 80 or 81, yet he is only 76 in the game (and may I add, a very slow one at that). He is WAY faster than 77 speed and 79 acceleration (more like 83/84 I would say) and his passing and deking should be in the mid-to-high 80s actually. Once again, look at his stats and at his highlights at NHL dot com an you'll see that I am right.
[In order not to make the Ducks unrealistically better than they are IRL, give Morrison, Marchant a 75 rating - they're fast, that's all. Kunitz should rather be a 77 right now and Moen and Parros could easily drop a few ratings down to 73. Getzlaf and Perry, on the other hand, could as well be 89 and 86 overall.]
3. Sergei Fedorov (C, Washington) is still in the high 80s - why is that? He is a nice depth player right now, but not more. An overall rating of 83 would be the max for him I think.
4. Saku Koivu (C, Montreál) has got a 99 toughness rating. Okay, I know he battled his way through cancer, but seriously? He is as soft as it gets on the ice.
5. Steven Stamkos (C, Tampa Bay) is 82 overall. C'mon, he got hyped but eventually isn't even close to be ready for the NHL. He could probably be a 75 or so right now, but not more than 77. He does have speed and hands, but he lacks physical appearance a lot as well as shot accuracy (right now).
6. Jay Bouwmeester (D, Florida) is only a 82 overall player. I think every single rating in the "skill" menu could be raised by 5. He is one of the most complete offensive defensemen in the League, he just is stuck on a team that sucks big time. An 86/87 overall rating would be well deserved I think.

Re: 2/10 roster corrections
First. Still some players under-rated and over-rated especilly golie departments. I think EA need to re-rate more and more players. One good example is Rising golie star's rating like Mason. He is only 85!
Right, 85 is pretty good. but look at his stats his GAA is 2.09, Sv% over 92% and SO league leader. Comparison with NHL 09 No.1 Golie Roberto Luongo. Everyone know that his overall is 94. His GAA is 2.61, SV% 91.2%. I don't want to blame his rating. But It's Too high. (or Mason is low)
You can see like that so many when you take a look at whole roster.
Second. Need to revised players equipments. Yeah golies too. When EA released their First roster update, I'm really embarrassed that Lundqvist is changed his Equipment to Itech one. and That's even no resembled real one (Lundqvist now using R10) Yeah, R10 does not exist in NHL 09 but Itech one? No..
This season So many golies changed their's equipments color combination. but Roster didn't reflect that and so many skeaters equipments wrong either. Looks at the AO stick, he is using Nike Bauer One 95 right now. and some CCM guys (Thornton, Koivu, Lecavalier...) still using V10 in the game. but they are using U+.
Third. Why didn't set players stick curve?
I think stick curve set is good feature in the NHL 09. If you change players stick curve. Players shot aiming timing is totally diffrent before you change that. It'll make you see variety shot direction. Anyways, I want to say this. You guys know they set some blade pre-set named famous player(Nike Bauer sets are Gagne, Naslund, Lindros, Malkin). but the player who have his curve, They didn't set their own curve.
Forth. When are European Leagues roster update?
EA show their effort to the NHL and AHL rosters. but European Leagues? They aren't. European Leagues rosters in the NHL 09 game are out-dated. You know so many fomer NHL players now in the European leagues. but some players i can't find. Good example is Nagy. He is in the KHL right now. but i can't find him. and some players in the FA not his team. Another one is some players are being cloned. Every player who transferred to NHL from European leagues duplicated. Anton Babchuk, he is in the Canes system. his former team was Omsk. Look at the Omsk roster. Babchuk is still there.
Ok My suggestions are over. Thanks for your reading.Comment

Re: 2/10 roster corrections
They have C.Huet for the Hawks at an 82! He has a save % of .914 and a GAA of 2.14. Should be at least an 86. A couple other Hawk players are very underrated as well. Especially Duncan Keith. He is a +26 this year and his rating is, from what I remember, around an 80-82. Should be higher. And there are a few others that should have higher ratings.
Also, Crosby is a 96 and Ovechkin is a 94...reversed?Comment

Re: 2/10 roster corrections
They lowered Bouwmeester? I could have sworn he was 84-85 prior to this update. Nonetheless Huet's rating is ridiculous, he has been significantly underrated by EA for years. I recall when they rated Raycroft above him despite Huet leading the league in save percentage in his final year with the Canadiens.
That reminds me, Toskala is a 86. How in the world is he rated that good? I also lobby a complain about D'Agostini, who is no worse than Patcioretty, I would actually argue he is better yet only rated a 71 with average potential.
Continuing on my Habs, the hell does Laraque have 79 for? And for that matter when has Sergei Kostitsyn ever shown signs he is superior to his brother in anyway? Halak's potential should be a A- or at the very least a B+
Jason Blake may deserve a boost with his recent scoring however I understand his rating given his previous season.Comment

Re: 2/10 roster corrections
Tim Thomas is still criminally underrated. 84?
He leads the league in save percentage (.931) and is 2nd in GAA (2.12).
Here's a list of goaltenders that are undeservedly better than Thomas:
Kari Lehtonen - 85! .908 save % 3.14 GAA.. He wasn't even better than Thomas..LAST YEAR!
Chris Osgood - 85. Enough said. Also, speaking of Detroit, Conklin is also heinously underrated at 75. He's the one that should be an 85.
Vesa Toskala - 86 ..at no point in his career has he warranted an 86 rating.
Continuing on...
Blake Wheeler - 16 goals, 18 assists. Rated just 75? Really? He's faster than 78 speed and his wrist shot accuracy should be 80 not 75.
Jonas Hiller - Should be bumped up at least 5 points overall. Giguere should come down 5.
Cristobal Huet- Him and Khabibulin should both be around 85.
Marty Turco - Having a disastrous season. Clearly not an 88.
Jon Quick - Yeah, not a 70. Try bumping him up about 10 points minimum.
Erik Ersberg - Worthy of a low 80s rating.
Pekka Rinne - Is better than Dan Ellis. Show it in the ratings.Comment

The Stars don't have an actual AHL affiliation of their own. They share Portland and Rochester I believe it is. If it's a player owned by the Stars send them to Rochester.Comment

Toskala shots faced 1158, save % 883 ,minutes played 2734.One of the most sought after players for trade and plays for a terrible team. His weakness is consistency.I think 86 is fairLast edited by stink; 02-16-2009, 08:41 AM.Comment
