The ratings aren't supposed to be a judge of how the player will produce in 3 years. They are supposed to be an accurate depiction of where the player ranks in today's game. If you don't think Cliff Lee is a top 10 pitcher right now than you are sadly mistaken. Debate over.

Cliff Lee has always had Cy Young talent. In the 2005 season he finished 4th in Cy Young voting while 2006 and 2007 he was nagged by small injuries which destroyed his mechanics. He shows great control of all of his pitches with great off speed "stuff". His cutter is death to right-handed hitters and has great action on his curve ball. He more than likely won't have the same season as last year but will definitely have a solid season with a solid ERA and WHIP.
