    2009-2010 PS3 Roster Project

Now that we are almost to the Tournament i figured it was time to start thinking about rosters for next year. Well i have decided that the sooner I get started on this the better. I`ll probably be starting on these sometime later this week.

First thing i will be doing is naming all players that will have returning eligibility. I can look on rivals and name the freshman that have already signed letters of intent. I can always remove players who left early or transfered. I also will make sure numbers, height, weight, class, and ethnicity are right.

Then my next step will be to change ratings and name coaches. Whenever it comes time for that which wont be for some time. I`d love to have all rosters named and ready for rating changes by August.

If there is anyone who want to help out with project that would be great.

Good luck, and smart man. It's going to be VERY hard to have all the ratings done by that point. It's impossible to judge who is going to do well, etc.., but you'd be much better off having the right people in the game earlier so you can take a break before you have to do ratings.

I have gotten a nice little start on this project. I have around 25 teams done right now. I`m doing about 3-5 teams a day. I have started from scratch for these rosters.

Next step some time this summer i will start on ratings, I was wondering if anyone had any rating formulas or a certain way to rate players.

I don't have any formulas for ratings but looking forward to this when B-ball season rolls around and if there's anything I can do to help let me know.

Which file are you using as a base?

In all likelihood I will help out, NCAA09's dynasty mode couldn't keep my attention so I may still be going with 2K8 for a legacy next year.

I put the Top 25 freshman into the 08-09 project and had the top guys at an 82-84 which turned out to be way too high. Granted it was a very weak class but I still wouldn't recommend putting too many freshman above 80 until they prove IRL they deserve it.

Honestly, and no disrespect to anyone. NO freshman should be rated an 80 before he plays a single minute of college basketball

You can awlays go back and edit hm AFTER he shows he is worth it.

I have started these rosters completely from scratch so far i have finished the Big 10, Big East, Sec and about 5-7 mid major teams. My goal is to have everything named hopefully by sometime in July at the latest. Then in July i`ll start doing the ratings. Since i have started from scratch the ratings are going to take some time.

Aye, it probably woulda been a lot easier to use the 08-09 community roster since it had all of this year's freshman and updated ratings in it. Starting from scratch is making an already huge task much more time consuming and tedious.

The only thing i would say about ratings is that 99 overall is reserved for ELITE players (a phrase thrown around way too much), im talking like Micheal Jordan. Almost no one should be over 90 i would say. For returning players, one of the quickest/fastest should be Kalin Lucas (I cite him because i watch State play more than anyone else).
If i were doing this, i think i would open up this thread to ratings submissions by individual members, people who watch the team on a regular basis, and enter it that way (With veto power for ridiculous things of).

i agree but i used i think it was Adigos base set at first and every time i would add a player to a team it would F`up the rosters.

no, no.. you're doing it right! starting from scratch = less likelihood they will freeze! I appreciate the work you're putting in. 5 teams a day is a great way of doing it too. No pressure, no rush. Good luck w/ this!

Let me know if you need any help with this....I'm starting to get back into this game after spending some QT with MLB 2009 The Show. I don't have the Playstation network but could take some of the work you've done and add to it if you can post your most recent file on here. Thanks!

I believe that starting from scratch is the right way to go with this project. I've downloaded a few of the 08-09 rosters and I've had a lot of issues with freezing and stat glitches that I had never seen before. If you need any help with WVU or any other Big East teams pm me. I know quite a bit about WVU's current players and the guys they have coming in.

                            Hey,

Well, since it seems we're both fans of "major" college teams, how about working with me on a new roster? I had a pretty good 07-08 roster I could work from. I'm not really concerned about the smaller schools, well, except from removing the stars (Lester Hudson, Stephen Curry, etc.) from the game. We could do something like this:

Wildcatchild: SEC, ACC, Big 10, Conference USA, Missouri Valley
crques: Big East, Big 12, Pac 10, Mountain West, West Coast or Atlantic 10?

I think it would take me a good 10 days or so to do 5 conferences (because of my job) but I would love to give it a shot. Plus, it will give PS3 users a good foundation...if anyone else wants to pitch in feel free! The less teams we have to individually edit, the more time we can spend fixing player apperances (which only improves the overall quality of the game).

P.S. - If you know the way to edit a "community file" online let me know...I'm having problems connecting my PS3 network right now but would work on trying to fix it....especially considering we could both work on updating the rosters at the same time!

I would love to help out but I'm not sure I have the time. I might be able to do a few teams, or maybe even work on some player ratings while I'm here at work, but I don't think I could take on conferences like that. With work, family, and graduate classes, I only have a few hours of gaming time each week if I'm lucky.

Are you starting with the default rosters or an 07-08 set? I had an 07-08 set that I worked on for months and have tweaked it some based on last season, but not much. It included all of dkrause's 360 edits, along with several of my own.
