Pittsburgh Pirates Holding Open Tryouts
Pittsburgh (AP) - The Pittsburgh Pirates have officially announced open tryouts for invites to their 2009 spring training camp set to begin on February 16th. The Pirates ownership has launched the search for replacement players after their players went on strike with a mysterious list of demands that has not been leaked to the press.
Pirates ownership has given the players an ultimatum that if they do not cooperate by the break of camp then discussions will be put off until the off-season at earliest as they want to focus on whoever will be in uniform this season.
The open trouts will be a 5 day camp beginning on Monday February 16th and ending on Friday the 20th. All parties interested in trying out will need to provide the organization with a signed waiver, and a background of their playing history prior to these tryout camps. The minimum age requirement is set at 21, as the organization expects serious struggles, and wants the team to be able to drink it off.
