Nick Sheridan is out for the spring with an injury, it would have been nice for him to get more time in practice. The only thing good to come of it is Tate getting more reps with the first team. Feagin actually getting some reps at QB, i`m sure its just for special run packages, because he still can not throw.
So far freshman running back Vincent Smith has looked good, some reports even saying that he would be the number 2 back right now. I wish Mike Shaw was not hurt so that he could get more reps. Kevin Grady still much of the same i don`t expect much out of him next year.
Hemmingway looks good this spring,Roy Roundtree has been playing some in the slot. Feagin also getting more practice in the slot. I`m excited to see what Terrance Robinson can do this year, i know before he got hurt last year he was set to get serious playing time. Oh yeah Tony Clemons has left the team. Also reading they would like to get Kevin Koger more involved in the offense this year. Martell Webb another TE is looking good this spring.
Believe it or not and i know it`s only spring but good reports on the Offensive line so far. It may have been our worst Offensive line unit in history but I think they do o.k. this year. We have everyone back from last year plus 6 red shirt freshman now competing for spots. Plus everyone now has year in the system under their belts. I would not be surprised to see the Offensive line be a real strength this year. A lot of good talk about Patrick Omameh.
Another thing i keep reading a lot is about how we will really start to see the benefits of having Mike Barwis this year. I know a lot of people could not see much difference in strength and conditioning last year. But it really takes a good year to start to see the changes in players. Mike Barwis is known to be one of the best strength and conditioning coaches in the business. A good example is Brandon Graham he was at one time under the old coaching staff 310 he is now at 265. I remember at one time their was talk of moving Brandon to defensive tackle under the old staff.
