    Icons on the Screen

What are they? I have a few guesses for some of them

Right now I have the following icons next to players names...

    -A padlock
    -A blue diamond looking thing
-what looks like a pair of crutches (rehabbing?)
    -an arrow pointing down (injured)
    -a red box (IR)

I don't think I've seen any other ones yet

Crutches mean that the player is too hurt to practice, but isn't actually injured. (Health below 60% I believe)

I haven't seen the padlock for players before. I've only seen it in relation to coaches when certain philosophies are locked due to giving up control when hiring them. Perhaps it has something to do with Franchise Tags? I've never tagged anyone so I don't know.

The diamond looking thing is actually a drop of sweat and denotes a fatigued player.

The crutches mean the player is more fragile than a house of cards. For me it means its time to get rid of 'em because they're gonna spend most of their time in a hospital anyways.

The arrow usually means they are injured and can't play or practice, but if you deactivate a player before a game and then check the roster between then and game time, it will also appear.

Thanks man. That all makes a lot of sense.

As for the pad lock. It's next to my tight end. I have no idea what it's for. Maybe EA could have put a piece of information or two in this skimpy "instruction manual" that came with the game.

If I remember correctly a padlock means that you had choose to bench that player at some point so the game locks them into that place on the depth chart.
The down arrow means a player is benched. (Injuries included)
And I think the rest of them have all ready been covered.

well he was actually the 2nd stringer. my coordinator told me the 1st stringer wasnt productive enough so I just said okay to whatever. They switched the TE's.. I just didn't notice the pad lock until more recently.

I got the padlock when I was asked to swap my starting qb (delhomme) for the younger backup (scott) they wanted to "evaluate the youth movement". I figured delhomme was maxed out and scott had a pot of 94 plus we had made the wildcard...at least...what the heck...give the kid a good look before the end of the season and deciding to keep delhomme or not.

Big mistake!!! He was locked in...at the end of the season he had matched delhomme so I cut delhomme to save some money. But then scott was locked the whole next season. The only way I could get anyone else to play was to use the trainer to make him inactive. I couldnt get my backups any playing time. He was locked for that whole next season and the start of the following one...until I traded him because he liked throwing ints more than he liked throwing completions...

The lock can be done by coaches if they want a player to stay in a certain position or if the gm recommends you start another player and stuff. usually more control you give coaches more likely you are to see this.

That must be why I have never seen that lock before except when I agree to it because I dont give any control to my coaches. But the one time I did see it was enough...learned my lesson there.

                        Re: Icons on the Screen

I found this thread looking for an answer to what the padlock icon next to the player's name meant. I find that the icon does correlate to the owner asking you to bench one guy and start another (and my agreeing), but unlike others' experiences I read in this thread, I CAN change the depth chart. The icon remains next to the name, but I can put him back on second string. I even checked back after a couple of days, and the guy remained where I placed him, on 2nd string. I double-checked by going into the play creator, and confirmed that the first string guys' names were as they should be.

Anyone else notice how this works, one way or the other?

Does anyone know what the "C" with 3 stars under it means?

As a small extra i wish we were able to select the team captains ourselves. Wouldnt make any difference to anything results wise, but would be fun
