I was messing around in the "Quick Game" menu. Find your team and hit the triangle button to bring up "Adjust Lineup". Then select "Situational Lineups". There u are able to edit your starting five with your bench players. Selecting your weaker reserves lowers your team overall rating. Hit the O button to get back to the matchup Quick Game screen and you'll notice the Overall Rating for your team. You want it 69 or lower. Then u just have to go to the Game Modes menu to get to Career Legacy and you should see your team in the pool of teams.

Just found out something cool in Career Legacy
For all of you who to choose to run a Career Legacy to gain attribute points as a coach but your favorite "small, mid-major/low-major" team just doesn't quite make the cut for the list of schools available then check this out....(ps3 btw)

Re: Just found out something cool in Career Legacy
That IS pretty cool, but an easier workaround would be to just choose an Open Legacy and you get be any team you want. The biggest difference between the two, besides the choices of teams available is that you can edit players in an Open, but not in the Closed (Career), from what I have read on here.MLB 2007 The Show (PS3): Boston Red Sox
NCAA '08 (PS3): Oregon Ducks
Madden 2009 (PS3)
College Hoops 2k8: Duke, Winston-Salem State -
Re: Just found out something cool in Career Legacy
Yea but when in Open Legacy you acquire the record of the previous coach for career wins and losses. There are 28 coaches that haven't "coached" a Div 1 game so one could always go that route for a "clean slate" record wise.
I've played both career and open legacies and they each have their pros and cons...S.O.S. Crew

I prefer closed. Nothing like getting a job offer that you actually earned.Comment

Re: Just found out something cool in Career Legacy
What does getting a job offer that you actually earned have to do with closed legacies? Are you saying that starting out in a closed legacy with northern colorado and then getting offered the air force job is somehow different than starting out in an open legacy with northern colorado and getting offered the air force job?
In terms of going from job to job (even starting at the smallest, crappiest school, and then after many years getting offered a power conference job) there's no difference between closed and open legacies. They both have the same coaching carousel and they both have the same coach progression in terms of gaining coaching attribute points for doing well.Favorite Teams:
College #1: Michigan Wolverines
College #2: Michigan State Spartans (my alma mater)
College #3: North Carolina Tar Heels
NHL: Detroit Redwings

I don't know about on the PS3, but with the 360 version, your coach's stats are maxed out to begin with in open legacy. In terms of going from job to job (even starting at the smallest, crappiest school, and then after many years getting offered a power conference job) there's no difference between closed and open legacies. Re: Just found out something cool in Career Legacy
when you first start, you can max out your coaches stats aswell as make him a "F" rating....when you actually start the legacy, the coach progress normalComment

Re: Just found out something cool in Career Legacy
Oh. That is neat. Is there any way to zero out the coach's record?Comment

Re: Just found out something cool in Career Legacy
Do they really progress? I haven't gotten any attribute points for my coach in two seasons of an open legacy.Comment

Re: Just found out something cool in Career Legacy
I just tried this several times, on 360, with Indiana and I can't get it to work. I don't think it would make a difference that it's on 360, but I'm doing this exactly, and it's not working. I made their rating go down to 63, 66 and 69, and even tried saving the roster and I can't get it to work.Comment

Re: Just found out something cool in Career Legacy
Try raising one of the current career legacy teams to a 70+ overall. Someone said that worked for them, haven't tried it myself. I had the same problem you did.I just tried this several times, on 360, with Indiana and I can't get it to work. Re: Just found out something cool in Career Legacy
I just tried that, and it didn't work. I tried raising two of them to 70, and I got nothing.
Maybe making them at least 71? Who knows. They did disappear from the pool, though.
Has anyone had it work trying to use a big school, or just mid majors?Comment

Re: Just found out something cool in Career Legacy
Only way to zero the coach's record out in Open Legacy is to choose one of the 28 teams that have a "first year coach" :
Air Force
Binghamton
Butler
Chicago State
Drake
E Washington
Evansville
Florida A&M
Hawaii
Indiana State
Iona
Kansas State
Leghigh
Marshall
Maryland Eastern Shore
North Dakota State
New Mexico State
New Orleans
Norfolk State
Princeton
Quinnipiac
Radford
Robert Morris
San Diego
Santa Clara
Texas Southern

Re: Just found out something cool in Career Legacy
SO you're trying to get Indiana into the Career Legacy pool? Won't work because of their conference. It has to be a mid major team so you can "move up" the ranks with teams/conferences.I just tried this several times, on 360, with Indiana and I can't get it to work. Re: Just found out something cool in Career Legacy
I had a feeling that was the issue. Well, guess I'll find another team. Thank you.
