    Yu Darvish CAP

Credit goes to Carew29 for the ratings and GiantKing because I'm using his CAP template. Like GiantKing said about his template

"Some parts of the face, etc. use a bar that goes to 100 (on my count). Other parts you press X and it brings up a 16x16 box where you move the L stick to. I am going to list how many boxes across by how many boxes up from the bottom left corner to the bottom middle of the L stick icon."

I.E. Head Scale is 9x4; 9th box from the right and 4 boxes down.

On my TV I had to turn up the brightness to 100 to see the grid he's talking about.

Awesome that you posted this. Any chance you can post all the pitching stance and pitch speeds info?

    Thanks,

    J

            Re: Yu Darvish CAP

Woops I thought I had the rating info in there. Carew's thread that was linked to above has the pitch ratings personally I moved the pitch order around a bit based on what I've seen of him and that I prefer having a fastball as the 1st pitch. I played a game with him earlier and hes a super beast, I'll make a couple changes in the ratings and post them tomorrow with the picture of him. Again these are Carew's ratings.

            PITCH TYPES:
            Pitch Type 1: Running Fastball: 53/60/80 (94mph)
            Pitch Type 2: 4-Seam Fastball: 65/85/70 (95mph)
            Pitch Type 3: Slider: 55/80/70 (85mph)
            Pitch Type 4: Curveball: 50/80/90 (80mph)
            Pitch Type 5: Splitter: 55/55/80 (86mph)

            PITCHING ATTRIBUTES:

            Stamina: 89
            Pitching Clutch: 90
            H/9: 90
            HR/9: 95
            K/9: 89
            BB/9: 68

            BATTING ATTRIBUTES:
            Right Contact: 0
            Left Contact: 0
            Right Power: 0
            Left Power: 0
            Bunting Ability: 0
            Drag Bunting: 0
            Plate Vision: 0
            Plate Discipline: 0
            Clutch: 0
            Durability: 74
            Speed: 10
            Arm Strength: 65
            Arm Accuracy: 60
            Reaction: 60
            Fielding Ability: 45
            Baserunning Ability: 0
            Baserunning Aggresiveness: 0

In reguards to a Bum Ho Lee Cap I'll give it a stab, Darvish was my first real CAP in a SCEA MLB game (RTTS excluded). Asians are hard to make because of the eyes, round heads, and pronounced cheek bones.

Lastly, what I'd advise you guys to do is add this CAP to Knights roster when he puts it up. Adjust the CAP so he sucks and no one will pick him up. Readjust his ratings right after the world series. And get ready to fork over some change to sign him in ur franchise. Thats about as realistic as its gonna get as far as signing a Japanese player outside of MLB Front Office Manager which sucked by the way.

I'm not trying to knock anyone's research. I just want to state that I've saw him throw his slider, fairly often, at 90-91 mph. As for the break, he has the nastiest slider that I've ever saw.

After looking at Carew's CAP he actually made it last year. So yea the numbers are gonna be off. I'll do some research tomorrow.

Thanks a lot for this. I'm gonna make him in a little bit. I agree w/ Jason19 I've seen his slider normally be around 88-91. I know you're going off last year's attributes, but it seems like he's gained some MPH on his slider. As for break, it's one of the best sliders I've ever seen.

                    Re: Yu Darvish CAP

I found an interview with Trey Hillman who managed Darvish his first three seasons with the Ham Fighters in Japan. According to Hillman:

"In my opinion, he's one of the best in the world at 21. He throws a fastball, curveball, slider, change, a split. He's the full package. He's got an array of every pitch you'd want to see with the exception of a knuckleball. He throws a four-seam fastball, two-seam fastball, movement that is natural and really unfair. He has velocity, 92-95, to go with it. He's a tremendous competitor, a great worker, a great teammate, handles fame very well. He doesn't like the spotlight but will endure it long enough to do what he needs to do."

This was written last April ('08) so he is indeed 22 now as you can see Hillman referring to him as being 21 when this article was written.

Won't let me post the link since I'm new, but it's from Baseball America's prospect Q&A.

I don't get it. I tried creating him, but the description is well over my head. For some strange reason i cant seem to figure out where the L cursor is supposed to land. Could someone post a picture or state whether or not it is a true likeness of Darvish. I have fumbled around for the last half hour with no luck. Could the OP be a little more precise with his description or could another member lend a hand. Thanks guys.
