Slightly Different Approach to QB Vision
*This poll is for people who want some form of QB vision. Note- there IS no cone in this idea. If you're against any sort of QB vision mechanism period, please don't clutter the poll and just move on.
Instead of holding L or R and cycling through your receivers (= time waster), and instead of seeing a huge vision cone, how about this: Version 1 (closer to vision cone):
Hopefully you see how this would work. Go through your progressions simply by moving the right analog. No, it will NOT be just switching through icons like in the old vision cone (or tecmo bowl). Instead it will be moving your QB's head and body so that he is in a position to throw to whichever receivers are presently in his field of vision. As to the problem of two receivers being in the field of vision, but one deep and one shallow, since the QB can SEE both of them, there really shouldn't be much of a penalty for choosing one over the other. But if the Qb is positioned so that he is more facing one than the other, his most accurate pass should be to the one he is facing. It wouldn't be an "all or nothing" thing, like the cone. It would be a continuum of "most accurate possible pass" to "least accurate possible pass" based upon the position of the QB and his head. Obviously you would simply press the button that corresponds to the icon of the receiver you want to throw to to pass. That part will not change from the current passing mechanism or the old vision cone mechanism (push B to throw to the B receiver). Just how accurate you are based upon whether or not the icon you push is a pass a real QB could throw. Version 2 (I think I like 1 better, but here is one that is even closer to the current passing mechanism):
In both of these versions there ARE no onscreen graphics or animations other than the direction your QB is facing/looking. (that should be all you need with procedural awareness, shouldn't it?) After all, when watching the game on Sunday there isn't anything to clue you on to which way the QB is looking other than the direction his head/body is pointing, right? So, what do you think? Which of these two is better? If you were at least given one, would it be an upgrade over the current passing mechanism? And... Are either one of these better than BOTH the current passing mechanism AND the old vision cone passing mechanism? What modifications or additions do you have? Btw, this is obviously not for Madden 10, since I highly doubt they have the time to code anything like this with so little time. |

If, however, you are against all types of QB vision, you shouldn't even be wasting your time on this thread. |
