ps3 opening day update rosters don't seem too good

Just took a quick glance and Sheffield is a FA. Braves CF is Blanco and Shaefer is no where to be found. Sticking with Ridins as they are good

The real opening day rosters wont be out til next week. The players have to play in a game before they can be included. Since opening day is basically today there is no way they could have included those guys. As for Schafer, since he only debuted last night he wont be in til next week along with probably every other guy that made opening day rosters.

Sheff signed after the SCEA cutoff date. Schafer will not be in any SCEA update until the 13th along with every other rookie and Vet that that gets into the games this week.

I would wait until next week, hopefully by then the lineup and RTTS issues will be addressed by Sony.

techincally Schafer is in the game but under a fake name. Gengrio Soroa, something like that? the attribute points somewhat matches his minor league numbers. oh, if you decide to use that dude, just change the name (duh), the weight, height, and color skin.

why doesn't SCEA just release a roster update tomorrow or Wednesday when everyone has appeared in a game?

SCEA doesn't create Minor League players under fake names. Those players are completely random.

Some starting pitchers may not appear in a game for five or more days such as Russ Ortiz.

shouldn't it be good enough if they are sitting on the bench duing the first game played? Are there rules to this roster deal?

Yeah there is they have to make an appearance in the game to be considered part of the MLBPA for this year.

i dont see how that could possibly be true. otherwise, there wouldn't be any players on any roster until the 2nd week of the season. and what about players on the 25 man roster who won't see action for a month or so? are you claiming rosters will have only 22-23 players until these guys see action? makes no sense

Only players that have NEVER been in a big league game (rookies) are not included until they appear. A guy like Cliff Floyd and Ichiro will be in the roster even though they are DL's right now. They are already members of the MLBPA. It is part of the licensing deal with the MLBPA.
