Angels player in a car wreck

Anyone see this?? He died this morning in a wreck. Nick Adenhart I think was his name. That's awful.

Man, he just pitched 6 shutout innings last night. I feel so bad for his family and friends. Makes me sick to it stomach. Man, life can change so quick.

Tragic day for baseball, especially the Angels organization and their fans.

With their rotation hampered by injuries to 3 all-stars, Adenhart was a promising young guy looking to take advantage of his opportunity. He also happened to have his best start last night, going 6 shutout innings.

      So sad.

Really, really awful. Puts baseball in perspective, that's for sure. I hope they prosecute the driver of the mini van that ran the red light and then tried to run to the fullest extent. He should go away for a very long time.

I think I speak for the entire OS community when I say our thoughts and prayers go out to the Adenhart family and all his friends and teammates.

This is a nightmare as an Angels fan. I have watched this guy grow up from the farm system he had all the potential in the world and to see him gone is devastating.

I really just feel awful about this. I barely have even heard if this kid....but to know the joy he was feeling and his friends and family were feeling after his start on Wednesday, only to be taken away a few hours later.....that just doesn't seem fair. I just really feel sad.

This is horrible. I didn't even realize he was their top prospect. Such a sad situation for his family since he was only 22 with his career just about to start. RIP

Having been in a car wreck this past Monday which is still emotionally eating at me, reading about this just made me feel even worse. I don't even have any words that can describe the feelings I'm going through, and what I went through is faaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaar less severe than what this kid and his family have gone through. Before I was just emotionally sick, but now I feel physical ill as well.

I heard about it at the Yankees game today, he was hit by a minivan that ran a red light, makes me feel sick to my stomach, person responsible should go away for a long time, and the guy tried to run away and he was drunk.

I'm gonna be frank and honest with you guys. It hardly has anything to do with drunk drivers. What it comes down to is idiots behind the wheels. I bet any amount of money that same clown would have tried the exact same thing if he was stone cold sober. ALOT of people behind the wheel have NO business having licenses period. I've driven with alot of people and I swear to you some friends I have I'd rather drive with them ripped than other friends who I ride with cold sober.

Some guys who know they had a few will stay attentive to every slightest thing going on the road. Meanwhile I have other friends who think every time they get behind the wheel the words "READY SET START" flash across the windshield and haven't had a drink in a week.

This isn't to condone drinking and driving but it's to bring attention that it's more than just having some drinks.

Scott Boras was crying. I don't know what to say about that one. I'll just keep it classy and say he must have really like the guy.

Yea baseball players are people and people die. Thats life. But what I really hate are the religious people out there who will say 'this happened for a reason' and that it was in 'god's plan'. complete and utter nonsense.

there is absolutely no reason why a 22 year old pitcher with his whole life and career ahead of him had to lose his life like this. no reason. what a tragedy
