Re: What's needed to Transfer Rosters to PS2?
I'm going to purchase this device when I can. I was pointed out to it by someone who has something similar, so it will work. Its the cheapest one I could find too.

Can anyone please provide a short specific tutorial? Is this compatible with my slim PS2?Last edited by arden_05; 04-13-2009, 03:36 PM.Comment

Re: What's needed to Transfer Rosters to PS2?
1. Download the file you want and save it to your Desktop (or wherever you want).
2. Open up the MaxDrive software/program on your PC.
3. Then plug in the flash drive into a USB port on your computer. The MaxDrive logo in the program will flash blue when you plug in the flash drive
4. Your flash drive will show in the left box on the program. Then just simply drag the .max file that you just downloaded (make sure you unzip it if its zipped) to where it says "MAXDRIVE" in the list on the left. And that's how you get it on the flash drive.
5. Then go to bottom of your computer screen where your little toolbar is on the right and you should see a little logo that says "Safely Remove Software". Click on this, then with the flash drive selected, hit the stop button. This will safely disconnect it from the computer.
6. Plug the flash drive into the PS2, then start it up with the Action Replay PS2 CD in the PS2. Go to "Memory Manager". Select the flash drive. Go down to the file and hit X to select it, then move right with the directional pad to the options on the right side of the screen, and go down to where it says "Uncrush". Move right again to select which memory card you want to uncrush it to. After that go back to the Memory Manager main page and hit START and select launch game. Dont turn off the PS2 but open the lid and take out the AR CD and put in the game then hit X. Thats it! (The screen will say launching game, but sometimes it has kinda frozen for me at that point in the past but you can just simply hit the reset button on your PS2)Last edited by cyclone2426; 04-13-2009, 03:59 PM.Comment

Re: What's needed to Transfer Rosters to PS2?
This is the one i got (16 mb), and i got the slim PS2 so it is definitely compatible. Here's a quick rundown of the steps after you have installed the Action Replay software:
Thats it! Re: What's needed to Transfer Rosters to PS2?
So this package comes with the PS2 AR disc as well? I ask because mine is a slightly different package (AR MAX - it didn't include a max drive), but I know it comes with that disc too. The memory manager on that disc is definitely the key to getting this whole conversion business taken care of, and as long as that maxdrive package has it, you'll be fine with that.Comment

So the Max Drive comes with the disc and 16mb drive. The disc is to be installed on your PC. Is this the same disc you put in the PS2 to access the memory manager?Comment

No there is the disc for the computer that has the program on it and one for the PS2. The one for the PC, you pop it in once and install the program on your computer and thats all you'll need of it (dont throw it away, you might need it if something was to go wrong). Then there is the one for the PS2, this one has the "Memory Manager". The PS2 one also has the area where you can turn on/off cheats for games and i think it has a media player which can also play any dvd regardless of region (you could play dvds from asia, europe, etc.). This is what you should get in the package:
Action Replay Max CD for the PC
The CD for the PS2
16 MB Flash drive (They call it a "max drive")

Yeah, if your just getting it to do this stuff, the 16 MB is good enough, but if you actually wanted to use the flash drive for something else, they got 32 & 64 MB versions. That aint much more space, but i guess some people have a lot of game saves lol.Comment

Nah, it would be just for this, and maybe future saves but I doubt itComment

Re: What's needed to Transfer Rosters to PS2?
Be warned guys...
I just got my AR MAX drive from the us codejunkies site... ordered the "USA" version, clearly says on my receipt. But they sent me the "european console" cd...
So I just sent them an email asking about next steps to fix this...what a pain.
What's funny is I recently picked up 2k5 for xbox and even got a data cable but my 20GB 360 hdd isn't recognized by my pc for some reason...
So to upgrade rosters i'd have to take my 360 hdd out of it's case... so i decided to just get ar max for my ps2...
plus... even though the 360 version looks better, i REALLY like the analog buttons on the ps2... makes the game feel much better for me.
So anyway though, be careful and don't get too frustrated if your ps2 doesn't run the disc... especially if it isn't NTSC, obviouslyComment
