As a huge Marlins fan I was very disappointed to see the stadium like that. It actually does bother me a little bit there's no reason to mess that up.

I find it hard to believe there were 40,000 people there. They only average about 16,000. It only seats 38,500 people for baseball and 76,000 for football. Besides, I am sure they are obligated by their contract with MLB to make sure the stadium does not look empty as the reflects poorly on the Marlins franchise.

Makes sense to me, what is the Football capacity of Dolphins stadium? 65,000 or 70,000? Since they change it for baseball season/games I would imagine big sections being open even though there are 40,000 there.

I remember Three Rivers being that way too.

Sorry only 18,109 were there on Sunday. The good news is that it's considerably above their average.

Maybe, they think it would look bad to see a lot of empty seats in the stadium?

I know they have to know no one ever sits up there.

During playoffs the whole stadium is packed. Wait till we get our new stadium, then you will see the real Marlins.

I decided, for the second The Show game in a row, to play my season as the Marlins. They always seem to have nice young players. Also, for me, there is something about that stadium that makes me love using them. I don't know what it is, but I like it.

My apologies, I got my facts wrong. I should have read the post more clearly and made myself look like an idiot, lol. I was a bit surprised to see 40,000 people attend one game when the attendance averages under 15,000. My intent was not to disparage the Marlins franchise. It is clear when one looks at the data that the problem in Florida is the stadium and not the fans.

It's the stadium, not the fans.

The Marlins stadium is a massive stadium, it will always look empty. Hell, the chairs are even used as the batters eye. They don't even allow the sale of the top-row seats unless it's a playoff or some other high caliber game.
